Every shared moment reminded us that LOVE, JOY, and HOPE can still bloom even in places the world has chosen to forget, love that remembers, joy that heals, and hope that endures.

This Christmas Love Drive 2025, we entered San Ramon Penal Farm with carefully wrapped gifts and hopeful intentions, believing that we were there to give. Yet the truth revealed itself quietly and powerfully. We were the ones who received far more than we brought. Inside those walls, we witnessed stories shaped by years of waiting, regret, resilience, and faith. The PDLs welcomed us with surprise performances born from courage, games filled with genuine laughter, and heartfelt messages that carried the weight of time and longing. Each performance, each song, and each movement carried a deep meaning drawn straight from their hearts. Behind every smile was a story, and behind every applause was a silent plea to be seen, heard, and remembered. Every shared moment reminded us that joy can still exist even in places the world has chosen to forget.

One moment in particular remains etched in our hearts. A PDL stood and shared words that were both heartbreaking and healing. “Even when society, friends, and even our own family tinalikuran at minsan nakalimutan na kami, your visit made us feel na mahalaga pa pala kami.” In that instant, the distance between us disappeared. There were no visitors and no inmates, no uniforms and no titles. There were only people. People who needed to be seen, remembered, and reminded that their lives still hold value. That single sentence carried years of silence, and our presence that day answered it with love.

The MWL Family would like to send a deep gratitude to everyone who made this day possible. We thank our sponsors, whose generosity helped sustain this outreach: Dr. Cris Ian P. Susuco, Dr. Edelyn Arguelles, Dr. Paula Estive, Dr. Stephanie Dajuela, Dr. Jaybee Bazan, Mr. and Mrs. Angelo Taguinod, the Araneta Family, Ms. Beverly Mendoza, Dr. Enrico Galvan, Dr. Eunice Kay Sanson, Dr. Geode Allan Diansuy, Dr. Ariene Marie Magadan, Dr. Pilar Cabanlit, Dr. Yrl Agbayani, Dr. Caroline Fabian-Vecina, Dr. Ma. Fatima Concepcion, Dr. Ciara Obillo, Dr. Angelica Clariz-Roz, Mrs. Maria Carlotta B. Lim, Dr. Omaira Suaib, Mr. J***y Cillo, and Dr. Ralph Renon Casamayor, Dr. Lottie Uy, and Creia Coffee Roasters. Your support allowed this mission to reach those who needed it most.

We also acknowledge our Level 2 and Level 3 Coordinators, who chose to remain unnamed yet carried this initiative with quiet dedication and selfless commitment. Your work may not be visible, but it is deeply felt. This outreach would not have been possible without your guidance, patience, and heart for service.

Above all, we honor the Men and Women of Loyola volunteers, medical students, and doctors who chose to spend their Christmas not in comfort, but in compassion. Your presence spoke louder than any gift. Your willingness to listen, to laugh, and to sit with those who are often unseen made all the difference.

For eleven (11) years and counting, this tradition has endured because it is rooted in service, humility, and love. We hope and pray that the Men and Women of Loyola will continue this journey for many more years, returning not just with gifts, but with the same promise we carried that day. That no one is forgotten. That even when the world turns away, love remembers. That every life, no matter where it stands, is still meaningful. 🕊️❄️
