BLD Zamboanga District held its Life in the Spirit Seminar (LSS #34) on August 15-16, 2026 at the Astoria’s Celebrity Hall.

There were 22 Singles, three (3) Singles from S.E. #35 and nineteen (19) from S.E. #36 who participated in the Life in the Spirit Seminar.

As the class shepherds of S.E. #36, James and Mariel Strong gave their full support to their lambs. They had been with them since the Salubungan, shepherding sessions, and teachings. Moreover, they even arranged and scheduled confirmation for those who had not yet been confirmed.

The couple coordinator, Tito Bert and Tita Rowena Buaya were also present, guiding and supporting the singles ministry.

Their presence and dedication were a beautiful expression of their commitment to journey with the singles in faith as they grow in spirit and strengthen their faith in God.

The Singles Encounter No. 36 held its first Singles Grand Reunion last June 13, 2026 at the BLD Office.

The new graduates, headed by their class shepherds James and Mariel Strong, rendered a beautiful song and dance number to express their gratitude to the SE 35 sponsoring class.

Also present during the reunion were the couple coordinator, the pastoral team, and the DCS, who showed their support for the event.

The Singles Ministry, headed by Couple Coordinators Tito Gilbert and Tita Rowena Buaya, was assigned as the choir for the first Eucharistic Celebration for the month of August, while Marian Solon from S.E. No. 34 was the organist.

Singles Encounter No. 36 with their class shepherds, James and Mariel Strong, and singles from different encounters, came together as one, united in faith, as they rendered their beautiful voices in service during the Holy Mass.

HIS BODY LIES IN STATE AT THEIR RESIDENCE IN COVARRUBIAS DRIVE, DIVISORIA AT THE BACK OF RURAL BUS GARAJE. INTERMENT WILL BE ON MONDAY, JULY 27 AT FOREST LAKE PHASE 1, AFTER THE 8:00 AM REQUIEM MASS AT DIVISORIA PARISH CHURCH.

The Singles’ Ministry successfully conducted its hiking activity on January 25, 2026. Before proceeding to La Guerta in La Paz, an opening prayer was held at the BLD Office, with the participation of singles from different batches.

After the picture taking at La Guerta, the group went on a 3-km hiking activity. Breakfast was then served before proceeding with the Amazing Race activity which involved team-building games to strengthen the bond and camaraderie among singles.

The hiking activity concluded with a spiritual and God-centered reflection where the participants took time to connect with God through nature and reflect on their personal journeys.

Indeed, as what Tita Eva Illagan, one of the members of the Singles Pastoral Team said:
“ONE HIKE- reminds us that life is a journey—sometimes steep, sometimes slow, but always worth taking one step at a time. Along the trail, we learn patience, perseverance, and trust in the path ahead.

ONE FAITH- keeps us moving forward, even when the road is unclear. It gives us strength when we are tired and hope when the climb feels heavy. It instills in us gratitude when we reach the summit.

ONE FAMILY - who walks beside us through every season—sharing the burden, celebrating the views, and reminding us that no journey is meant to be taken alone.

Together, one hike, one faith, and one family make every step meaningful.”
