As one Ateneo community, we gather for the Fiesta Mass on December 8 at 12:00 noon at the University Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in honor of the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, our Patroness.

This feast reminds us of Mary’s unique holiness and her faithful “yes” to God—an invitation for us to walk with humility, integrity, and openness to His grace. In this Year of Companionship, may her example strengthen our unity and inspire us to serve with truth and love.

Let us celebrate the Ateneo Fiesta como un compañero.

In the spirit of companionship and our deep-seated commitment to social justice, we are inviting the Ateneo Community to join us for a significant Public Forum on Integrity, Transparency, and Accountability.

We gather to deepen our understanding of the issues of systematic corruption and good governance, and to affirm our collective stand for truth, accountability, and the common good.

This will be held on Friday, November 28, 2025, at the Multi-Purpose Covered Court 1 (MPCC 1), from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

This event is also part of our celebration of the Mindanao Week of Peace, recognizing that true peace is founded on justice, transparency, and accountability.

Sabay-sabay tayong tumindig: Ilantad ang katotohanan, Ibalik ang pera ng bayan, Ikulong ang mga kurakot, Igalang ang konstitusyon, Ipanalo ang sambayanang Pilipino!

The Ateneo de Zamboanga University Campus Ministers and Freshmen Formation Program Formators successfully completed Module 1 of the Ignatian Formation Program held at the Lantaka Campus on November 10–16, 2025.

Module 1 consisted of an intensive Prayer Workshop, beginning with a two-day formation session where campus ministers and formators engaged in guided prayer, processing sessions, and reflective sharing. These were deeply integrated with Ignatian principles such as discernment, inner freedom, and finding God in all things. This was followed by a five-day silent retreat, allowing participants to enter more deeply into personal prayer, interior silence, and spiritual attentiveness.

The program, rooted in Ignatian practice, deepens participants’ experience of prayer and prepares them to compassionately accompany others with discernment and an Ignatian grounding. Centered on compañerismo, it emphasizes journeying together in faith and walking with others as they seek meaning and purpose.

𝖠ñ𝗈 𝖽𝖾 𝖢𝗈𝗆𝗉𝖺ñ𝖾𝗋𝗂𝗌𝗆𝗈: 𝖣𝖺𝗒𝗌 𝗐𝗂𝗍𝗁 𝖦𝗈𝖽 𝖸𝖾𝖺𝗋 4.1

The Ateneo de Zamboanga University Staff under Central Services successfully completed the Days with God Year 4.1 retreat held from August 28 to October 30, 2025, at the Immaculate Conception Chapel (ICC)

Days with God Year 4.1 is a 10-week preparatory course on Prayer and Ignatian Spirituality facilitated by the University Chaplain, Fr. Tex Paurom, SJ. This program is designed to introduce participants to foundational Ignatian practices, helping them grow in self-awareness, discernment, and openness to God’s presence in their daily lives.

The DGY4.1 sessions serve as an essential preparation for the participants’ upcoming 3-day silent retreat. Throughout the program, participants are guided through personal prayer, reflections, and spiritual sharing, allowing them to deepen their relationship with God and better understand the movements of their inner life. This formation experience helps them enter the silent retreat with a more grounded heart, ready to listen to God with clarity and love.

Año de Compañerismo: 𝑫𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝑮𝒐𝒅 𝒀𝒆𝒂𝒓 3 Inter-religious Dialogue

The Ateneo de Zamboanga University Staff under Central Services successfully completed the Days with God Year 3 retreat held on November 20–21, 2025.

The 𝑫𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝑮𝒐𝒅 𝒀𝒆𝒂𝒓 3 (DGY3) is a two-day Ignatian retreat designed for academic and non-academic staff who have previously completed Days with God Year 2 (DGY2). Participants visited the Mosque in Taluksangay, the Zamboanga City Alliance Evangelical Church in Canelar, and the Avalokitesvara Temple in Tetuan.

DGY3 offers participants an opportunity to celebrate diverse faith traditions and engage in meaningful conversations. Interreligious dialogue plays a vital role in cultivating understanding, tolerance, and collaboration among individuals from various religious backgrounds.
