The Mother’s Journey | The Metropolitan Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception announces the upcoming National Pilgrimage of Our Lady of Guadalupe from Mexico to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Zamboanga. The faithful are invited to mark their calendars and prepare their hearts to receive her maternal presence and blessings from June 24 to 26, 2026. This sacred visit offers an opportunity for spiritual renewal, communal prayer, and deepened devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

CORONATION OF REYNA ELENA 2026 HIGHLIGHTS:

Flores de Mayo is a daily offering of flowers to Mary, the mother of Jesus, and is observed throughout May. The celebration culminates with a Santacruzan, a grand finale that, as its Spanish name implies, ties in a very different theological theme—the discovery of the True Cross by Reyna Elena, or St. Helena, the mother of the Emperor Constantine.

The MCIC Community culminates the celebration with the Coronation of Reyna Elena 2026, Her Majesty Annielyn Padilla I, from the Daughters of Mary Immaculate. We thank the other lovely Flores de Mayo Queens from the different BECs and Organizations for their love and generosity.

As we continue to cherish this sacred tradition, may it inspire us to deepen our faith and follow Christ with renewed hope and love. May the message of the Holy Cross guide our hearts and strengthen our commitment to living a life rooted in faith.

SANTACRUZAN 2026 | The MCIC Parish - Commission on Catechetical Apostolate proudly presents, this year’s Santacruzan Reynas! These lovely ladies represent their Basic Ecclesial Communities, Ministries and Organizations.

Join us tomorrow at 3:00 in the afternoon, as we crown this year's Reyna Elena, culminating Flores de Mayo with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist to be followed by the Santa Cruzan Procession with the Image of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

With hearts full of gratitude, we give thanks for the blessings, service, and unity shared throughout this year’s celebration. As we continue our journey in faith, we look forward to seeing everyone again next year for our culminating activities, with renewed hope and deeper devotion.

The program began with the Holy Rosary and was concluded with a prayer of thanksgiving, entrusting everything to God through the loving intercession of Mama Mary. We are sent forth renewed in faith and mission as disciples of hope.

LEARNING CONVERGENCE AND TRIBU REFLECTION

As part of the Tribu Huddle experience, a learning convergence and reflection was held where participants shared their experiences, challenges, and insights gained from the different stations.

Each tribe reflected on the difficulties they encountered during the activities. Despite the challenges, they showed teamwork, patience, and determination, proving that unity and cooperation are key in overcoming every task. These moments became opportunities for growth, learning, and strengthening of faith and friendship.

Participants were also asked to share their favorite station, where most expressed joy in the fun, interactive, and meaningful activities that helped them bond as a tribe while
deepening their understanding of “Ave Maria.”

The reflection was also deepened by recalling the example of Mary and Jesus in saying “Yes” to God, a reminder of obedience, trust, and faith in God’s plan. The First Miracle at Cana was also highlighted, where Jesus turned water into wine through Mary’s intercession, showing the power of faith, prayer, and trusting in God’s timing.

Through this reflection, everyone was reminded that every challenge has a purpose, and every experience—whether easy or difficult—helps build stronger faith, character, and community spirit.

AWARDING OF TRIBU CHAMPIONS AND DISTRIBUTION OF SCHOOL SUPPLIES

The celebration came to a meaningful close with the awarding of the Tribu Champions, honoring the effort, teamwork, and dedication shown by all the tribes throughout the activity. It was a joyful moment of recognition and thanksgiving for everyone’s active participation.

This was followed by the distribution of school supplies, a simple act of sharing that became a powerful expression of care, love, and support for the learners. Through this, we are reminded that every small act of generosity becomes a blessing when offered with a sincere heart.

With deep gratitude, we give thanks to the Lord for the gift of service, unity, and community that made this event possible. 🙏
