The organization was founded on March 27, 2020, and was formally organized on July 18, 2020, of the same year.

As we continue our mission to preserve, promote, and deepen the devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, we look back with gratitude at the journey that has shaped our growing community of Santo owners and Marian devotees. HAPPY CAMARERO Y RECAMADERO DAY!

Camarero Day is a special occasion in Zamboanga that honors the devotion and service of the camarero and recamadero—individuals entrusted with the care, preservation, and adornment of religious images, especially during Catholic festivities. These dedicated community members play a vital role in upholding Zamboanga’s deep-rooted faith and cultural heritage.

The camarero is responsible for safeguarding and preparing sacred statues for public veneration, while the recamadero enhances their appearance through elegant vestments and accessories. Beyond their tasks, they serve as silent stewards of tradition, ensuring that religious processions and ceremonies reflect the community’s devotion and dignity. Through their quiet work, they foster unity, respect, and spiritual connection among Zamboangueños, making Camarero Day a celebration not just of duty, but of love and faith in action.
