Rev. Fr. Fernando "Alex" Caurel served at St. Isidore Parish Lasam for 7 years (2017-2024). In these seven years, he brought the least, the lost, and the last to the church. He gave emphasis on family, hardwork, and education. He taught simplicity and resourcefulness among the youth ministers.

As we bid our farewells to our beloved Parish Priest, let us offer him prayers for his next assignment at Sto. Niño Parish, Calapangan Sto. Niño, Cagayan.

Prayer for Priests
Gracious and loving God, we thank you for the gift of our parish priest, father Alex. Through him, we experience Your presence in the sacraments. Help him to be strong in his vocation. Set his soul on fire with love for Your people. Grant him the wisdom, understanding, and strength he needs to follow in the footsteps of Jesus. Inspire him with the vision of Your Kingdom. Give him the words he needs to spread the Gospel. Allow him to experience joy in his ministry. Help him to become an instrument of Your divine grace. We ask this through Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns as our Eternal Priest. Amen.

Every third Sunday of January, the Philippines commemorates the feast of the Holy Child Jesus, also known as Sto. Niño.

As we celebrate this joyful feast on January 21, 2023, at 8:00 a.m., The Saint Isidore Parish will hold an investiture for aspiring Altar Servers who have completed their formation.

Let us pray for the youth, particularly those who wish to serve the Lord, that the Holy Child Jesus will teach these future altar servers how to serve and love our loving Father in heaven. And that the Holy Spirit would deepen their faith, hope, and love.

To God be the Glory!

𝐒𝐀𝐂𝐑𝐀𝐌𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐅𝐈𝐑𝐌𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍

According to United States Catholic Catechism for Adults, a person who has been baptised is strengthened for service to the Church by receiving the Holy Spirit in the Sacrament of Confirmation. Before his death, Jesus promised that the Apostles and the entire Church would receive the Spirit. Confirmation calls us to be missionary witnesses of Jesus Christ and strengthens the life of baptism.

On Saturday, 9AM, January 20, 2024, the archbishop of the archdiocese of Tuguegarao will preside over the Holy Sacrament of Confirmation. We are calling, then, all baptised Catholics from Grade 6 and above who haven't received the sacrament yet to receive the Holy Spirit through this sacrament.

To all who are willing, you are required to submit your baptismal certificate to the parish office. Furthermore, on Saturday, kindly wear a white shirt and bring a candle, as well as (at least) one sponsor (ninong/ninang).

Oh God, hear our prayer for the men you have chosen to follow in your Son's footsteps.
Teach them humility and fidelity to unselfishly help others.
May their devotion to Our Blessed Mother, Queen of Vocations increase, enabling them to do your will.
Strengthen their prayer life that they may grow spiritually without worldly distractions.
Give them courage and perseverance in their studies.
May the Holy Spirit lighten their struggles with their vocations, until they know the joy of being a priest.

DISYEMBRE 08: ANG IMMACULADA CONCEPCION

Ipinagugunita sa atin ng pistang ito ng Kalinis-linisang Paglilihi kay Maria ang katotohanang ang kaluluwa ni Maria buhat pa nang lalangin ng Maykapal at isama sa kanyang katawan, sa tiyan pa lamang ng kanyang inang si Santa Ana, ay di nabahiran ng salang mana (orihinal) na minamana ng lahat ng tao.

Noong Disyembre 8, 1854, sa harap ng 54 kardinal, 42 arsobispo, 92 obispo at ng di mabilang na debotong galing sa iba't ibang panig ng daigdig, ay tiniyak at ipinag-utos ni Papa Pio IX ang pagsampalataya sa katotohanan o dogma ng "Kalinis-Linisang Paglilihi kay Maria" (Immaculada Concepcion). Noong 1830 sa Paris, ipinahayag ng Birhen na "siya'y ipinaglihing 'di nagmana ng kasalanang orihinal" at sa kanya natupad ang pangako ng Diyos na yuyurakin ng isang babae ang ulo ng ahas. Sa bayan ng Lourdes, nasaksihan ng daigdig ang himala ng Birhen na nagsasabing siya ang "Immaculada Concepcion" noong 1858. Ang matamis na taguring ito ng Mahal na Ina, na siyang kauna-unahang biyayang tinanggap ni Maria sa Diyos, ay pintakasi ng ating Pilipinas.
