May 24 – Feast of Pentecost
May 25 – Memorial: Mary, Mother of the Church

On May 24, the Church celebrates Pentecost, the great day when the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles and filled them with courage, wisdom, and divine fire. Fearful disciples became bold witnesses of Christ, and the Church began her public mission to proclaim the Gospel to all nations.

On May 25, we honor Mary, Mother of the Church. Mary was present with the Apostles in the Upper Room, praying as they awaited the Holy Spirit. As the Mother of Christ, the Head of the Church, she is also the spiritual Mother of all believers, guiding us closer to Jesus with her loving intercession.

These two celebrations are beautifully connected. Pentecost shows us the power of the Holy Spirit, while Mary, Mother of the Church, reminds us that the Church is also held in a mother’s prayerful care.

Come, Holy Spirit.
Mary, Mother of the Church, pray for us. 🙏🔥

THE ANGELUS | Together with Cebu Archbishop Alberto "Abet" Uy, let us pause for the Angelus and raise our hearts to God, entrusting our prayers through the loving intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

𝗖𝗛𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗧 𝗜𝗦 𝗥𝗜𝗦𝗘𝗡, 𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗟𝗨𝗜𝗔 ✨

He is risen. Not as a memory, but as a living truth that meets us where we are.

Before the sun could rise, hope already did. The stone was rolled away, not just from the tomb, but from every heart still waiting for light. What seemed finished on the Cross has now begun anew, a life no grave could hold, a love no death could silence.

At the dawn of April 5, 2026, we do not simply celebrate an event, we step into a promise. That in Christ, endings are never final, and brokenness is never the last word.

Presided over by Rev. Fr. Pepito Batomalaque, we stood as witnesses of the Resurrection, carrying within us the quiet yet powerful truth: 𝗛𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗛𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀, 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗵𝗼𝗽𝗲.

A night that began in silence and darkness unfolded into light, story, and life. From the blessing of the fire to the rising glow of every candle, we were reminded that Christ does not rush into our lives, He enters gently, yet powerfully, breaking every shadow.

Through the Liturgy of the Word, we journeyed across salvation history, listening to how God has always been faithful, never abandoning His people. And in that same faithfulness, we renewed our baptismal promises, not just in words, but in a decision to begin again.

With joy, we witnessed the grace of baptism as a new member was born into the Church, a living sign that resurrection is not just remembered, but continues.

Presided over by Rev. Fr. Pepito Batomalaque, the vigil became more than a celebration. It became a crossing from who we were into who God calls us to be.

Christ is risen, and in Him, we rise too.

“The light has overcome the darkness, and the tomb is no longer silent.”

In the stillness of the night turned into glory, we gathered in faith to witness the Paschal Mystery, where death is not the end but the beginning of new life in Christ.

From darkness to light, from waiting to joy, we proclaim that Jesus has risen and His promise stands forever true.

In this celebration, we also renewed our baptismal promises, reaffirming our identity as children of God. And with grateful hearts, we witnessed the grace of baptism as one soul was welcomed into the life of Christ and His Church.

“With Mater Dolorosa, we walked in faith that remains even when the heart is pierced by sorrow.”

Each step was a prayer, honoring a Mother who stayed faithful at the foot of the Cross when everything seemed lost. Her silence speaks of trust in God’s promise, reminding us that faith does not end in grief but continues in hope.

"Natapos na."

The Body of Christ spoke without words, and the sorrow of Mary became a reminder that faith remains even when all seems finished.

It was a journey that taught us that love does not end at burial, but waits in hope for resurrection.
