We are almost there, Ka-Synod! In just three days, we will gather in Manila for a shared journey of listening, discernment, formation, and mission.

As we draw closer to Sulong-Padayon: Igniting Filipino Synodal Leadership, let us prepare not only our minds, but also our hearts—to listen to God and to one another.

👉Towards the 2028 Ecclesial Assembly
After witnessing synodal implementation worldwide through the voice of five committed women from five different continents, the theologian Daniel Kosch who had the idea of the series ‘halfway between the conclusion of the 2024 World Synod and the 2028 Church Assembly’, conclude the series of article on the online theological magazine feinschwarz[dot]net website with his own contribution’.
He wrote:
📣 “Anyone who has read the six insights from the halfway point of the implementation phase between the 2024 Synod and the 2028 Ecclesial Assembly needs no prophetic gifts to predict that this will be a further step on a lasting path of learning, not a conclusion…”.

⭐Be a prophetic force for today’s world
🇵🇭 Philippines is the main focus of today’s reflexion proposed by the online theological magazine feinschwarz[dot]net, which aims this summer of 2026 to reflect on the period ‘halfway between the conclusion of the 2024 World Synod and the 2028 Church Assembly’.
The theologian Estela P. Padilla, member of the 16th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops , shares her reflection on how the Church in Philippines is trying to move from emergent change model to transformative praxis.
She wrote:
“The call to synodality was a welcome change for the Philippine Church, not just a breath of fresh air, but could also be a generative idea that would inspire new dreams and integrate a lot of pastoral pathways happening in the local churches in the country”.

In the Synodal journey, discernment is more than making decisions—it is the shared practice of listening to the Holy Spirit.

Through prayer, attentive listening, dialogue, and openness to one another, we seek not merely what we want, but what God desires for His Church. Discernment invites us to recognize the Spirit's movement in our communities and to walk together with humility, wisdom, and hope.

As we continue preparing for Sulong-Padayon: Igniting Filipino Synodal Leadership, may we become leaders who listen deeply, discern faithfully, and courageously follow where the Holy Spirit leads.

A synodal Church is built not on speaking the loudest, but on 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗲𝗽𝗲𝘀𝘁. Every baptized person has a unique gift and perspective that enriches the mission of the Church. As we journey together, may we remain open to one another and attentive to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
