Yesterday, June 11, 2026, delegates from the dioceses of the Episcopal Province of Mindanao gathered for the fifth day of the Diocesan Synodal Teams Regional Assembly.

As the Church continues its journey of synodal transformation, the gathering emphasized the importance of fostering a culture of listening, collaboration, and shared responsibility in carrying out the mission of evangelization. The conversations encouraged participants to remain steadfast in promoting communion, participation, and mission within their respective dioceses.

In a special way, the assembly also remembered in prayer the people and communities affected by the recent earthquake in Mindanao. United in faith, the delegates offered prayers for healing, protection, recovery, and strength for all those impacted by the disaster.

𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝟰 | 𝗘𝗣𝗜𝗦𝗖𝗢𝗣𝗔𝗟 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗩𝗜𝗡𝗖𝗘 𝗢𝗙 𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗔𝗬𝗔𝗦

Last June 10, 2026, delegates from the dioceses of the Episcopal Province of Visayas gathered for the fourth day of the Diocesan Synodal Teams Regional Assembly.

The assembly became an opportunity to celebrate the fruits of the synodal journey while recognizing the realities and challenges faced by local Churches. Through meaningful conversations and group reflections, participants shared how synodality is being lived out in their dioceses and explored concrete ways of fostering greater engagement among clergy, religious, and lay faithful.

The gathering highlighted the importance of accompaniment, co-responsibility, and active participation in building communities that listen, discern, and act together. Strengthened by their shared experiences and common vision, the delegates renewed their commitment to advancing the mission of a more participatory and missionary Church.

Yesterday, June 5, the dioceses of the Episcopal Province of Southern Luzon gathered for the third day of the Diocesan Synodal Teams Regional Assembly. The gathering provided a meaningful space for participants to share updates on their synodal journey, exchange experiences, raise concerns and recommendations, and strengthen collaboration among the local Churches.

Through prayer, dialogue, and mutual listening, delegates reflected on their ongoing efforts toward synodal transformation and explored ways to deepen communion, participation, and mission in their respective dioceses. The assembly reaffirmed their shared commitment to walking together as a Synodal Church.

Yesterday, June 4, the dioceses of the Episcopal Province of Northern Luzon gathered for the second day of the Diocesan Synodal Teams Regional Assembly. The assembly continued to foster a spirit of communion and collaboration as participants shared updates, experiences, and insights from their synodal journey within their respective local Churches.

Through prayerful reflection, dialogue, and attentive listening, the delegates discussed ongoing initiatives, identified common challenges, and explored opportunities for deeper participation and cooperation in advancing synodal transformation. The gathering served as a valuable opportunity to strengthen relationships and reaffirm the shared commitment to building a more synodal Church.

The assembly became a meaningful space for sharing updates, reports, experiences, and best practices in the ongoing journey of synodal transformation within their local Churches.

Through prayer, dialogue, and mutual listening, participants shared updates on their synodal initiatives, raised concerns and recommendations, and explored ways to strengthen collaboration and communion in carrying forward the mission of a Synodal Church. May the Holy Spirit continue to guide all dioceses as they journey together in participation, communion, and mission.

The logo embodies the Church’s vision of 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 — the core pillars of the Synod on Synodality.

The 𝗰𝗶𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗲 symbolizes unity, wholeness, and our shared journey as the People of God, while the 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 represents hope, renewal, growth, and the continuing guidance of the Holy Spirit. At the center stands the 𝗖𝗕𝗖𝗣-𝗶𝗻𝘀𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝗲𝗺 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀, reminding us that Christ remains at the heart of communion, participation, and mission. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗽𝗲𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗼 highlights the local Church, where synodality is lived out amid the richness and diversity of Filipino communities, while the 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗳𝗶𝗴𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 portray the inclusivity of the Church—women and men, children, youth, the elderly, families, workers, farmers, religious, and persons with disabilities—all journeying together in faith. The 𝗱𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 evoke the Holy Spirit, joy, celebration, and missionary dynamism, inspiring us to proclaim the Gospel with renewed zeal.

Sunday Thoughts

From Ascension to Action to Communication

As we celebrate the Ascension of the Lord, World Communications Sunday, and the call to Synodality, we are reminded that Christ did not abandon the world when He ascended into heaven. Instead, He entrusted His mission to us. Before ascending, Jesus commanded His disciples to “go and make disciples of all nations.” The Ascension is therefore not a farewell but a sending forth.

In today’s world, communication has become one of the most powerful instruments for mission. Social media, digital platforms, and modern technology can either spread truth and hope or division and hatred. World Communications Sunday challenges us to become responsible communicators who speak with charity, honesty, and compassion. Every post, message, and conversation should reflect the Gospel of Christ.

Synodality deepens this mission. A synodal Church is a listening Church … walking together, discerning together, and journeying together. True communication is not only speaking but also listening with humility and respect. In a divided world, the Church is called to build bridges, not walls.

The Ascended Christ continues to communicate His love through us. When we listen, dialogue, and proclaim the truth with kindness, we become authentic witnesses of hope and instruments of communion in the modern world.
