Opisyal nang inanunsyo ng Philippine Olympic Committee ang siyam na young Filipino athletes na qualified para sa Youth Olympic Games na gaganapin sa Dakar, Senegal sa October.

Ito na ang pinakamalaking delegation ng bansa tulad sa first edition ng Youth Olympics sa Singapore noong 2010.

Magsisimula ang Youth Olympic Games sa October 31 hanggang November 13, 2026.

Filipino swimmer Jamesray Mishael Ajido has officially earned a spot in the 2026 Summer Youth Olympic Games as announced by Philippine Aquatics Incorporated, becoming one of the country’s representatives in the world’s premier multi-sport event for young athletes.

Ajido will compete in the 4th Summer Youth Olympic Games, which will be held in Dakar, Senegal, from October 31 to November 13, 2026. The event marks a historic milestone as it will be the first Olympic sporting event ever staged on African soil.

The swimming competitions are scheduled from November 1 to November 6 at the state-of-the-art Egg Tower Complex, where the world’s best young swimmers will battle for Youth Olympic glory.

Ajido’s qualification is a testament to his dedication, perseverance, and countless hours of hard work in the pool. His achievement also highlights the continued progress of Philippine swimming in producing athletes capable of competing on the international stage.

As the Philippines prepares for the historic Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games, the entire swimming community will be cheering on Jamesray Mishael Ajido as he proudly carries the Philippine flag against the world’s finest young swimmers. 🇵🇭🏊
