April 16 | Divine Mercy Sunday

You expired, O Jesus,
but the source of life gushed forth for souls
and an ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world.
O Fount of Life,
unfathomable Divine Mercy,
envelop the whole world
and empty Yourself out upon us.
O Blood and Water,
which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus
as a fount of mercy for us,
I trust in You.
Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and the whole world. (3 times)
Jesus, King of Mercy, we trust in You!

We thank the Lord for the gift of priestly vocation as we celebrate today the Presbyteral Ordination Anniversary of Rev. Fr. Sandy M. Cometa.

PRAYER:
Gracious and loving God,
we thank You for the gift of our priests.
Through them, we experience your presence in the sacraments.
Help our priests to be strong in their vocation.
Set their souls on fire with love for your people.
Grant them the wisdom, understanding,
and strength they need to follow in the footsteps of Jesus.
Inspire them with the vision of your Kingdom.
Give them the words they need to spread the Gospel.
Allow them to experience joy in their ministry.
Help them to become instruments of your divine grace.
We ask this through Jesus Christ,
who lives and reigns as our Eternal Priest. Amen.

🙏Optional Opening Prayers:
You expired, Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls,
and the ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world.
O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy,
envelop the whole world and empty Yourself out upon us.

Repeat three times:

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

🙏Our Father🙏
Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass
against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen

🙏Hail Mary🙏
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you;
blessed are you among women,

I believe in God,
the Father almighty,

For each of the five decades
On each “Our Father” bead of the rosary, pray:
🙏Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.🙏

On each of the 10 “Hail Mary” beads, pray:
🙏For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.🙏

Concluding prayer (repeat three times)
🙏Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.🙏

🙏Optional Closing Prayer🙏
Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself.
