Do whatever makes you happy is bad advice.

This advice has bred a generation of selfish and arrogant people who only think of themselves and their happiness.

Before you do what makes you happy, you need to ask if it's legal, if it's moral, if its Godly, if it put others in danger.

So many things can make you happy and end up destroying you, most times harmful to others. Taking what belongs to others can make you happy and give you plenty money, but does it make others happy, does it go against morality?

Don't just do what makes you happy, do what is right, it might not make you happy at the moment, but it will bring peace and joy to you later.

Happiness is not the ultimate, joy is.

Stop being selfish, it might give you gain at the moment but it will destroy your soul.

Go for what give you a sense of purpose and accomplishment, what brings peace to your soul not just what makes you happy.

THURSDAY. 12th Week in Ordinary Time. Reflection. Matthew 7:21-29. June 28, 2018.

Sabi ni Jesus sa gospel today Matthew 7:21, “Not everyone who says to me , “Lord, Lord!” will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my heavenly Father.” We must practice what we preach because calling ourselves Christians without living our beliefs is not going to help us get to heaven. The test of Sunday Holy Mass is the effect it has on our homes, place of work and the way it influences our relationships with friends and neighbours.

Marami sa atin ay masipag magsimba, masipag mag attend ng mga seminars sa parokya, mga retreats at recollections sa parokya, mga Bible study sa parokya, mga prayer meetings sa parokya, mga formations sa parokya, etc…. Dahil sa pag attend sa mga gawain sa parokya punong-puno tayo ng knowledge, kaalaman, information. Maganda ang lahat ng ito at hindi ito masama. Dapat po ay maging masipag tayo sa pag attend sa mga ganitong gawain sa parokya. Subalit kung wala naman pagsasabuhay ng mga Salita ng diyos ay hindi pa rin tayo makapapasok sa kaharian ng langit. Ang gusto ni Jesus ay, we must be doers of the word of God and not hearers only. What matters most is our commitment because Jesus asks us to become his disciples in a practical and personal way.

Kaya sabi din ni Jesus sa gospel today Matthew 7:24-25, “Kayat ang bawat nakikinig at nagsasagawa ng mga salita kong ito ay matutulad sa isang taong matalino na nagtayo ng kanyang bahay sa ibabaw ng bato. Umulan nang malakas, bumaha at binayo ng malakas na hangin ang bahay na iyon, ngunit hindi nagiba sapagkat nakatayo sa ibabaw ng bato.”

LESSON: Our life must be rooted and grounded on God’s Word. This is what it means to be a Christian. We seriously listen to the words of Jesus and put them into practice. Kung gusto mo na maging matatag ka sa mga panahon maunos, mabagyo o maraming mga pagsubok sa buhay palagi kang makinig sa Salita ng Diyos at magsabuhay ng Salita ng Diyos. Amen.

The selfish and the proud as well as those who make themselves gods will sooner or later discover the futility of their vanity & the folly of their ways. It is the presence of God that makes our life meaningful & our journey worthwhile. Let us not negate or neglect God's presence in the life we are living & in the world that we are living in. Greatness in life is NOT how we can jump over others, or how quickly we can overtake the rest, nor how huge we have acquired more than the rest.

BUT it is in the number of times we STOP along the way to REACH out to someone in NEED.
FOR it is in GIVING that we RECEIVE, in LOVING that we are LOVED, & in HUMILITY that we can be UNIFIED... Gud Am God bless -
