🎉 Mabuhay sa ating Patron, San Lorenzo Ruiz! 🙏✨

Alam mo ba na si San Lorenzo Ruiz ang kauna-unahang Pilipino na naging Santo? Isang ordinaryong tao na naging pambihira dahil sa kanyang pananampalataya.

📜 Si Lorenzo ay ipinanganak sa Binondo, Maynila noong 1594, may dugong Tsino at Pilipino. Bata pa lang, nagsilbi na siyang altar boy at naging calligrapher sa simbahan. Noong 1636, napilitan siyang tumakas papuntang Japan kasama ang ilang paring Dominiko matapos akusahan sa isang krimen na hindi niya naman ginawa. Doon siya naging martir, pinahirapan at pinatay dahil sa kanyang katapatan sa pananampalataya.

Mula sa beatification niya sa Maynila noong 1981 (ang kauna-unahan sa labas ng Vatican) hanggang sa kanyang canonization sa Roma noong October 18, 1987 ni Pope John Paul II, nagpatuloy ang kanyang pamana. Si San Lorenzo ay kinikilala bilang patron ng kabataan, mga Pilipino, OFWs, altar servers, at marami pang iba.

💬 “Kahit ordinaryo lang ang buhay, puwedeng maging pambihira sa pananampalataya.” Tulad ni San Lorenzo, kaya rin nating maging matatag at maging inspirasyon sa iba, sa pamilya, trabaho, at komunidad, kung hindi tayo bibitaw sa ating pananalig.

Ngayong Fiesta ni San Lorenzo Ruiz, sama-sama tayong magdiwang, magpuri, at magpakatatag sa pananampalataya. ✨
