Walk through the neighborhood and realized that the usual sights have become unusual. The trees started to bear fruit and become recognizable. But sadly, they are becoming less, in someone's yard, in the side walks, in schools, in open spaces.

Does modernization really have to cut down those trees? Their canopies bring shade in the scorching heat, their fruits are both food for humans and animals, they bring fresh air that we breathe, their roots prevent floods, and many more benefits they could offer.

Aw-asen Finds x Coffee Art

When a friend asks for a coffee art, you have to make it, right?

I started exploring this medium as an experiment. As a coffee lover myself, my things would occassionally have coffee stains. When I brew, used coffee ground would be left. I can either make it a scrub or dry it to be a fertilizer. But the coffee scrub is harsh on my skin. While the coffee fertilizer is only needed in small amount. So why not make it something fun?

At first, I was hesitant to use coffee since it's too fluid and it's hard to make darker tones. But with my doodle pen, I think this looks nice.

So here are some nature finds on our way to Aw-Asen Falls. The Falls itself is truly majestic.

Did I mess up?

The sketch was promising but as soon as I added the oil pastel it started to drift in a different direction. It was not what I had imagined nor close to the reference photo. But I guess that makes what we call Art.😔

Art doesn't have to be perfect nor close to reality. Art is meant to be a process, a reflection, a medium to express your thoughts, emotions, ideals, aspirations, all your passion.

What happened here is that I was eager to finish it. Dismissing the fact that my oil pastel has dried out and needed to warm up/oil up.

I was just starting when I realized this but I was conflicted if I will start over again or push to finish it then just trouble shoot at the end. And well, well, well. I choose to continue as to not waste it.

So, what do you think? Did I mess up?

How I wish Progress can be seen in a series of step-by-step events but oftentimes, they are a beautiful mess awaiting for you to put them together.

I had fun assembling this flower lego/music box. Even with a guide, it's still hard to identify which piece should go where. I also ended up with some extra pieces, so I just added another base layer. I don't know where to put them or did I miss a step. 😅

And the scattered parts of the Glitter Roses until I figure out what I wanted as their ending. For me, it turned out good. How about you? What do you think?

Pottery Session at Ceramico Arts & Crafts, La Paz Iloilo.

I created a mug. The handle was mostly made by the teacher, Ms. Nerissa. She also gave me a leaf coaster and teaspoon to match my mug.☕

Glad I can create something passable even if it's just my first try.😅

Looking back, I should have tried more.
