This may be a hard but necessary truth.

When pastors align themselves with a political side, they slowly weaken the credibility of their pastoral calling.

The Bible consistently defines pastoral ministry in terms of shepherding, prayer, and the ministry of the Word. Paul charged Timothy to “preach the word, in season and out of season” because a time would come when people “will not endure sound teaching” (2 Timothy 4:2-4).

In Acts 6:4, spiritual leaders devoted themselves “to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” Peter likewise instructed elders to shepherd God’s flock willingly and humbly, “not domineering over those in your charge” (1 Peter 5:2-3).

Now, let me make one thing clear. Hindi po ibig sabihin nito na ang mga pastor ay tahimik na lang pagdating sa katotohanan o sa katarungan. The Gospel speaks to every area of life, including public life. Pero malaki po ang pagkakaiba ng pagde-deal ng political issues using biblical principles kumpara sa pagiging bahagi ng isang political color.

You may use the following to diagnose your situation:

🔘When political outrage receives more passion than the Gospel
🔘 When sermons sound more like campaign rhetoric than biblical proclamation
🔘 When political enemies are discussed more than the lost
🔘 When the church becomes known more for its political side than its Christlike witness
🔘 When pastoral influence is used to advance political ambitions

Kung mayroon sa mga iyan ang isang pastor, something has gone out of balance.

Jesus said, “My kingdom is not of this world” (John 18:36). His kingdom certainly confronts the world, but it is not built through worldly power or political loyalty. The church’s mission is not to produce political tribes, but faithful disciples of Christ.

The church deserves shepherds whose primary calling remains clear: preach the Word, care for souls, and point people to Christ above every earthly kingdom.

Let us all pray for our pastors, kasama po ako, that we will not be influenced by any political situation, but remain faithful to the One who called us to shepherd His flock.

What happened on the Senate floor recently burdens my heart, not because of politics, but because of what the Bible calls leaders to be.

When you hold the majority, you carry a responsibility to lead with humility and to hear those on the other side. Power is not permission to dismiss. This is always true.

But when disagreement becomes difficult, walking away from responsibility is not the answer. Scripture consistently calls leaders to endure hard engagement faithfully rather than withdraw when conflict becomes costly. Nehemiah faced mockery, threats, and opposition, yet he prayed, posted a guard, and kept building (Nehemiah 4).

Leadership is tested not only in how we confront others, but also in whether we remain steadfast when tensions rise. The minority’s place is not outside the chamber, but inside, speaking, pushing back, and refusing to surrender its voice through absence.

To both sides, Psalm 133 reminds us that God delights in brothers dwelling together in unity, not in hostility and self-interest. You were not elected to defeat one another. You were entrusted to serve the same people.

To all the Senators in the Senate of the Philippines, and to all of us, we will one day give an account before the same God (Romans 14:12). And that is not merely a warning. It is also an invitation. Because the same God who judges sinners also sent His Son so sinners could be forgiven. There is grace for the proud who humble themselves. There is mercy for those who repent and choose to lead, and to live, differently.

It is not too late. Repent and surrender to Jesus Christ.

The political situation in the Philippines can easily discourage people, even believers. The maneuvering, the accusations, the sense that those with wealth and influence can simply shape the outcome for everyone else. It is easy to feel anxious when it seems like power belongs only to those who know how to use it.

But Scripture consistently reminds us of something deeper and more enduring: God is not threatened by human power.

“The LORD has established His throne in the heavens, and His kingdom rules over all.”
Psalm 103:19

The Bible is filled with rulers who believed they were untouchable. Pharaoh. Nebuchadnezzar. Herod. Caesar. Yet every one of them eventually stood before the reality that there is a King above all kings. None of them had the final word.

To confess that Christ is King in a season of political confusion is not passive resignation. It is an act of faith. It means we refuse to let men's instability shake our confidence in God's sovereignty.

“For God is the King of all the earth… God reigns over the nations; God sits on His holy throne.”
Psalm 47:7–8

As Christians, we should care about truth, justice, righteousness, and the good of our nation. We should pray, participate wisely, speak truthfully, and love our neighbors well. But our hope was never meant to rest ultimately on politicians, parties, or systems.

Power shifts. Kingdoms rise and fall. Christ remains King.

Those who trust in earthly power will eventually be disappointed. But those who belong to Christ stand in a kingdom that cannot be shaken (Hebrews 12:28).

So do not lose heart.

The One who holds the nations in His hands has not been surprised by a single thing happening in the Philippines today.

Our hope is not our performance.
Our hope is in the finished work of Jesus.

Let your confidence be in CHRIST ALONE.

"Glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh."

Paul describes the heart of the gospel: NO CONFIDENCE in the flesh. The flesh represents human effort, achievements, and righteousness.

Marami pong mga tao ang naniniwala na sila ay magiging katanggap tanggap sa Diyos dahil sila ay may:

• good behavior
• religious activity
• moral intentions

Minsan, sinasabi pa natin ang katagang "hindi naman ako ganoon kasama". Subalit ang Banal na Kasulatan po ay nagsasabi na ang kaligtasan natin ay hindi nakasalalay sa kung ano ang ating nagawa, but on what Christ has accomplished for us.

Nabuhay po si Jesus ng may perpektong buhay. A life that we could not live.

Si Jesus rin po ay nagdusa at namatay. Tayo dapat ang parusahan at mamatay.

Si Jesus ay nabuhay namang muli makalipas ang tatlong araw. Through His resurrection, He secured salvation for all who trust in Him ALONE.

Kaya nga po ang aking confidence patungkol sa aking kaligtasan ay si Kristo lamang. This is the reason why Christians are confident and why you must boast in Christ alone.

Our hope is not our performance.
Our hope is in the finished work of Jesus.

What do you tend to rely on for your confidence before God?

BE ON GUARD against false teachings.

BE ON GUARD against false teachings.
Philippians 3:2
"Look out for the dogs, look out for the evildoers, look out for those who mutilate the flesh."

Sa verse (3:2) po na iyan, Paul is giving a strong warning: "Look out."
-
Paul repeated it three times to emphasize urgency. Ang church po must be ON ALERT because false teaching is REALLY dangerous.
-

Kailangan din po nating maging aware na ang false teaching sometimes appears in subtle ways. False teaching rarely denies Christ. In fact, marami nga ang naliligaw dito because they thought that they knew Christ naman.
-
False teaching often adds something to the gospel.
-
It might say:
- Faith in Christ PLUS good works
- Faith in Christ PLUS religious rituals
- Faith in Christ PLUS moral achievement
-
But the Holy Bible is very clear on the gospel. Salvation is by GRACE through FAITH ALONE.
-
Kapag ito po ay dinagdagan natin ng ating mga gawa, the finished work of Christ is diminished.
-
Paul warns the church because protecting the gospel protects the joy of believers.
-
As I close, I'd like to ask you a personal question. Do you trust in Christ ALONE for your salvation, or are you adding something to it? Something you have done?

Kapatid, be careful with the teachings you listen to. Do they point to Christ or to human effort?
-
Let us all praise our God, for our salvation is His free gift and not something we earned.

There will be times when our faithfulness, when our obedience to God becomes costly.

There will be times when our faithfulness, when our obedience to God, becomes costly. Gaya ni Epaphroditus, who nearly died serving Christ, it may also happen to some of us.
-
With that, I want you to notice something profound:
He was distressed hindi dahil sya po ay nagkasakit, but because the church was worried about him. (v26. for he has been longing for you all and has been distressed because you heard that he was ill.)

That is Philippians 2:3–4 lived out. Looking after the interests of others before your own.
-
Faithfulness does not guarantee safety.
-
Sometimes suffering is not punishment; it is the cost of obedience.
-
Like a firefighter entering flames, he was hurt because he stepped into danger for others.
-
Costly obedience does not mean chasing danger.
-
It means not retreating, pushing forward when love calls.
-
When obedience becomes uncomfortable, do you step back? Kapatid, ang aking dalangin para sa'yo ay nawa as you trust God completely, you will step forward instead of retreating. Maging mapagpasalamat ka sa mercy ng ating Panginoon instead of asking for immunity from hardships.

May we all desire to ask our God to give us courage when obedience becomes costly, to trust in His mercy even in the midst of hardships.

Genuine Care Trusts God!

Why do you care? Do you care about someone because they care for you too?

Genuine Care Trusts God!
Philippians 2:22-24

22 But you know Timothy's proven worth, how as a son with a father he has served with me in the gospel. 23 I hope therefore to send him just as soon as I see how it will go with me, 24 and I trust in the Lord that shortly I myself will come also.

Mula po dito sa verses 22-24, Paul plans and hopes, but he releases control.

Paul is in prison, yet he trusts.

I want you to take note of this kapatid, care rooted in control becomes anxious.

Care rooted in hope remains peaceful.

Based on this principle, makikita po natin na ang ating responsibility is to love, to care; God is responsible for the outcome.

Kadalasan po, we try to force:
• Our adult children to obey
• Our spouse to respect us
• People to respond the way we want
• Outcomes that are aligned with our timeline

But GENUINE care says, "I care because God is good to me, not because you respond perfectly."

Kapatid, do you genuinely care, or do you want to control? May you release that person to God.

Nawa po ang iyong panalangin ay turuan ka ng ating Diyos Ama to care without controlling. To anchor your heart in God's sovereignty.

To have joy, seek the interest of Christ.

To have joy, seek the interest of Christ.
Philippians 2:21
“For they all seek their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ.”

Mga kapatid, I understand, this verse is painfully honest.

Karamihan sa mga tao ngayon, ang hinahanap:
• Comfort
• Recognition
• Advantage
• Protection

But from Paul's letter, ipinakita nya na Timothy sought Christ’s interests.

From the previous verses sa Chapter 2, makikita natin ang halimbawa nito. The model is Jesus Himself.

Mark 10:45 reminds us that the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve.

Christ sought your good at ang naging kapalit nito ay ang Kanyang buhay.

Now your life belongs to Him.

True joy deepens when it is no longer centered on you.

Sa inyo pong buhay mag-asawa, are you pursuing Christ or your own preference? Sa church po, do you prefer convenience or the glory of Christ?

Nawa po sa araw-araw, bago po tayo magdesisyon, let us ask ourselves: "Ito ba ay para sa akin o para kay Kristo?" Replace one complaint with gratitude.

May our prayers be for Jesus to redirect our hearts. For Him to teach us to seek His interests above our own.

A church that rejoices together remains UNITED and STRONG.

If I am to give a recommendation based on biblical principles for the kind of behavior a church should have to be a light in this darkened world, it would be that the church must learn to rejoice together.

A Church That Rejoices Together Shines Together
Romans 12:15 - “Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.”

A church that serves without joy becomes weary. Marami ang pagod at malungkot as they serve God.

A church that sacrifices without rejoicing becomes bitter.

But a church that rejoices together remains UNITED and STRONG.

God never intended your joy to be sustained by willpower alone.

He sustains it through shared life in Christ. Remember this: SHARED life in Christ.

As Christians, when we walk together in prayer, service, and rejoicing, God’s joy becomes durable.

This is how we, the body of Christ, the church, shine.

How are you contributing to shared joy in your church? I encourage you to consider ano ang mga pamamaraan na pwede kang magre-joice kasama ang mga kapatid mo sa Panginoon in the church.

Thank God for the gift of Christian community and ask Him to deepen your shared joy in Christ.

God designed joy to grow when it is shared, when burdens are carried together and victories are celebrated together.

Kapatid, how often do you open your heart to your church family? How often do you let them share in your joy as well as your struggles?

In verse 18, Paul does not say, “Rejoice because I am sacrificing.” He says, “Rejoice with me.”

Christian joy is not private. It is communal.

God designed joy to grow when it is shared, when burdens are carried together, and victories are celebrated together.

There is no lone Christian.

Isolation weakens joy. Fellowship strengthens it.

Have you been carrying your burdens alone? Your church family has been placed in your life by God to share both your struggles and your joy.

Ask God to draw you closer to His people, not away from them.
