LOOK || SPAG REGION 7 IN ACTION

What: The Department of Health (DOH) Region 7, in coordination with the Provincial Health Office, successfully conducted the Basic Life Support – Hands-Only Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Training, an intensive 8-hour program consisting of lectures and practical demonstrations.

When: August 4, 2026

Where: Municipal Social Hall, Santa Fe, Cebu

Who: The training was attended by selected members of the Salaam Police Advocacy Group (SPAG) – Santa Fe Chapter, who actively participated in the lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on practical exercises facilitated by DOH trainers.

Why: The activity aimed to equip SPAG volunteers with the essential knowledge and life-saving skills needed to provide immediate assistance during medical emergencies, particularly in situations involving cardiac arrest or breathing emergencies. The training also strengthens the capability of SPAG members to become more responsive and effective community volunteers in support of emergency preparedness and public safety.

How: The participants underwent a comprehensive learning session that included discussions on the fundamentals of Basic Life Support (BLS), proper ex*****on of Hands-Only CPR, emergency response procedures, and actual return demonstrations to ensure that each participant acquired the necessary competencies in performing life-saving interventions.

In his message, PBGEN JONAS “Khalid” M. EJOC, Ph.D. (Ret.), Regional President of SPAG Region 7 and SPAG National Vice President for the Visayas, commended the initiative of the SPAG Santa Fe Chapter in continuously enhancing the knowledge and capabilities of its members.

“Preparedness saves lives. Every SPAG volunteer must always be equipped not only with the heart to serve but also with the knowledge and skills to respond effectively during emergencies. This Basic Life Support training is a significant step in strengthening our volunteers’ capacity to protect and serve our communities. Let us continue to uphold the spirit of volunteerism, compassion, and excellence in public service. Together, we build safer, stronger, and more resilient communities.”

The activity reflects SPAG’s continuing commitment to enhancing the skills and preparedness of its members, enabling them to serve the community more effectively during emergencies while supporting the government’s advocacy for a safer and more resilient community.

Nagpahigayon og Courtesy Call ang Salaam Police Advocacy Group (SPAG) Tagbilaran ug Corella Chapters kauban si PSSg Jonald “Abdulsalam” C. Avinido, Salaam PNCO, ngadto kang PLTCOL Joey M. Bicoy, Chief of Police sa Tagbilaran City Police Station.

Ang maong pakighimamat nagpalig-on sa panaghiusa ug maayong panag-uban tali sa Philippine National Police ug sa Muslim community pinaagi sa SPAG. Gipasiugda usab niini ang padayon nga kooperasyon aron mapalig-on ang kalinaw, kaluwasan, ug panagkasinabtanay sa komunidad.

Daghang salamat kang PLTCOL Joey M. Bicoy sa mainiton nga pagdawat ug sa padayon nga suporta sa mga programa ug adbokasiya sa Salaam Police Advocacy Group.

LOOK || SPAG Region 7 Successfully Conducts Monthly Virtual Meeting

On August 2, 2026, at 8:00 PM, the Salaam Police Advocacy Group (SPAG) Region 7 successfully held its monthly meeting via Zoom.

The virtual gathering was attended by all Provincial, City, Municipal, and Regional SPAG Officers, Members, and Chapter Presidents, and was hosted by PBGEN Jonas “Khalid” M. Ejoc, Ph.D. (Ret.), Regional SPAG President and National Vice President for the Visayas.

The meeting highlighted the oral reports of Chapter Presidents, providing an avenue to present and address concerns, challenges, and accomplishments from their respective chapters. Constructive discussions led to the formulation of solutions and recommendations to further strengthen coordination and operational efficiency.

Beyond reporting, the activity served as a meaningful platform for dialogue, unity, and guidance reinforcing teamwork, shared commitment, and the directives of the Regional President.
In conclusion, SPAG Region 7 unanimously agreed to conduct its monthly meeting every first Sunday at 8:00 PM, ensuring continuous collaboration, mutual support, and collective action in fulfilling its mission of peacebuilding and community service.
