APRIL 25 | FEAST OF ST. MARK, Evangelist

Mark, +1st, cousin of Barnabas; associated with Paul and Peter; the Gospel ascribed to him (cf. Acts 12:12) is the oldest (written probably 70 AD) and the shortest; largely a collection of narratives that depict Jesus as being almost constantly active; presents Jesus as the Son of God whose ministry was marked by a series of mighty works, signs of God's power and kingdom; tradition holds Mark the first bishop of Alexandria; portrayed as a winged lion (cf Ezekiel 1); patron of notaries, Egypt and Venice.

PRAYER:
O God, who raised up Saint Mark, your Evangelist, and endowed him with the grace to preach the Gospel, grant, we pray, that we may so profit from his teaching as to follow faithfully in the footsteps of Christ. Who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen

PAROKYA NAN LANUZA | EASTER SUNDAY

The Parish of Saint Anthony of Padua joyfully celebrates the Sugat sa Kabanhawan and the Solemnity of the Lord’s Resurrection—a beautiful proclamation that Christ is truly risen.

This meaningful tradition was also brought to life by the different chapels within the parish, each offering their time, creativity, and devotion in making the Sugat sa Kabanhawan a truly united celebration of faith.

The celebration was led by Rev. Fr. Mario M. Aca-ac, DCT, marking his final Easter celebration as Parish Priest of Lanuza. His years of faithful service, humility, and dedication have deeply touched the parish community.

As we rejoice in the victory of life over death, we also give thanks for his spiritual leadership. May the Risen Christ continue to guide and bless him in his next mission.

ALLELUIA! ALLELUIA! Jesus is Risen! 🙏

PAROKYA NAN LANUZA | San Antonio de Padua Parish solemnly celebrated the BIHILYA SA PASKO SA PAGKABANHAW SA ATONG GINOO, the Inahan sa tanang Pagtukaw ug Solemnidad sa tanang Solemnidad.

The sacred celebration began with the Pagpasugat sa Kalayo, symbolizing Christ as the light who conquers darkness. This was followed by the Liturgy of the Word, recounting the history of salvation, leading to the joyful proclamation of the Alleluia, marking the Resurrection of the Lord.

Tungod kay kini mao man ang gabii kanus-a gibuntog ni Cristo ang kamatayon ug nabanhaw Siya nga madaogon.

Ang Pagpanalangin sa Tubig ug Pagbag-o sa Saad sa Bunyag reminded the faithful of their baptismal calling—renewed in Christ, who triumphed over death.

The Holy Mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. Mario M. Aca-ac, DCT, who emphasized in his homily the victory of life over death and the call for every Christian to live as witnesses of the Resurrection.

The celebration concluded with hearts uplifted in joy, as the community proclaimed:
Si Kristo Nabanhaw! Aleluya! Aleluya! 🕊️
