With hearts full of faith and a deep desire to serve, the Honrado Youth Ministry had the blessed opportunity to participate in the 18th Diocesan Youth Congress held on August 23โ25, 2025. The event, guided by the theme โYouth Responding to Godโs Call as Pilgrims of Hope,โ served as a powerful reminder of our calling as young people in the Church to stand firm in faith, to be bearers of hope, and to respond to Godโs mission with courage.
The theme, inspired by the scripture, โThe harvest is great, but the laborers are fewโ (Matthew 9:37), echoed throughout the three day gathering. It challenged us to reflect on the pressing need for young laborers in Godโs vineyard youth who are willing to say โyesโ to the call of service, leadership, and love, even amidst uncertainty, trials, and the noise of the world.
Throughout the congress, we engaged in meaningful sessions, spirit-filled worship, and fellowship with fellow young pilgrims from across the diocese. We listened to powerful talks that addressed not only the joys of following Christ but also the real struggles we face as Catholic youth today. In a time when many feel lost, overwhelmed, or alone, the congress became a sacred space to rediscover our identity in Christ and to renew our commitment to walk with Him.
There were moments of silence and prayer that allowed us to encounter God more personally. There were also moments of laughter, bonding, and shared experiences that reminded us of the beauty of our spiritual family. Most of all, there was a constant assurance that even when the world feels heavy and the path seems unclear, God is always with us and He is calling us still.
This experience was not just an event; it was a spiritual journey. In the face of life's challenges and when it seems like there is no way out, we were reminded: do not lose hope. The Lord has a purpose in every season of our lives. Everything our joys, our struggles, our gifts belongs to Him.
As we return to our respective parishes and communities, we carry with us the lessons, the fire of faith, and the mission to be true pilgrims of hope. May we continue to answer God's call with open hearts and willing hands. The harvest is indeed great. May we be among the laborers ready to serve in love and humility.
All glory and honor to our faithful God, who never fails to guide, provide, and call His children to something greater.
