Tithes and Offering Challenge: A GIFT OPENS THE WAY TO THE GIVER 🎁

Proverbs 18:16
“A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men.”

There is an Easter story of Mary Magdalene bringing a red egg to the emperor. Through that simple act of honor, the gates were opened, and she was granted access. It is said that in that moment, Christianity was introduced to the emperor.

This story carries a powerful principle: a gift has the power to open doors.

What cannot be accessed by position alone can be accessed through honor expressed in giving.

We do not only seek what is in the Kingdom—we must seek the King Himself.

It is not enough to be inside the Kingdom while ignoring the King. The heart of true worship is pursuit, not just presence.

Giving becomes an expression of that pursuit. It is not merely releasing something material—it is drawing near to God with honor and faith.

Jesus reminds us:

Matthew 6:33
“Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.”

When the King becomes the priority, provision follows. When God is sought first, everything needed is added in His time and in His way.

THE COST OF THE KINGDOM 🌏

(Luke 9:23–25)

“Then He said to them all, ‘If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.’”
— Luke 9:23 (NKJV)

The Kingdom of God is within you.

Jesus taught His disciples to pray:

“Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.”

When God’s Kingdom reigns in our hearts, His will becomes more important than our own. The Kingdom is not merely about receiving blessings; it is about surrendering our lives to the King.

Galatians 2:20 reminds us:

“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”

Whenever we want something valuable, we first consider its price. We ask ourselves if we are willing to pay the cost. We work hard to obtain the things we desire because valuable things require sacrifice.

In the same way, many people desire the blessings of God’s Kingdom, but fewer are willing to embrace the cost of following Christ.

Jesus never hid the cost of discipleship. He repeatedly taught that following Him requires surrender, sacrifice, and commitment.

As believers mature in Christ, change should become evident. Not worldly change, but transformation that comes from God. True discipleship requires sacrifice. Giving, forgiving, serving, and obeying often begin as sacrifices, but when practiced consistently, they become a lifestyle.

Sometimes God asks us to surrender our security and comfort. Yet when we entrust everything to Him, He gives us lasting peace and eternal security.

“Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.”

The disciples demonstrated this surrender:

“So when they had brought their boats to land, they forsook all and followed Him.”
— Luke 5:11 (NKJV)

The Bible does not teach believers to be careless but to be watchful and vigilant while remaining devoted to Christ.

To live as citizens of God’s Kingdom, we must live lives devoted to Him, knowing that eternal inheritance awaits those who faithfully follow Christ.

“The man who has God for his treasure has all things in One.”
— A.W. Tozer

1. DENY YOURSELF

(Luke 9:23; Galatians 2:20)

“If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.”
— Luke 9:23

To deny yourself means surrendering your desires, ambitions, and personal will to Christ.

The Christian life is no longer centered on self—it is centered on Jesus. We must become Christ-centered in our thoughts, decisions, priorities, and desires.

Galatians 2:20 declares:

“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.”

When Christ becomes the center of our lives, His desires become more important than our own.

🌿 Application:
What personal desires, ambitions, or plans am I unwilling to surrender to Christ?

🌾 Truth:
The Kingdom of God grows in us when we surrender our will and allow Christ to be the center of our lives.

2. TAKE UP YOUR CROSS DAILY

(Luke 9:23; Matthew 16:24)

Taking up the cross represents obedience, willingness, and daily surrender.

Following Jesus is not a one-time decision but a daily commitment. There are sacrifices involved in following Christ. Sometimes obedience is difficult. Sometimes forgiveness is costly. Sometimes serving God requires perseverance.

Yet what begins as sacrifice eventually becomes a lifestyle.

Our strength alone is not enough. Human effort without God’s Spirit cannot accomplish His purposes. We must continually depend upon Him and acknowledge that Christ is the center of our lives.

“If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.”
— Matthew 16:24

As we faithfully follow Him each day, obedience becomes a habit and devotion becomes a way of life.

🌿 Application:
Am I faithfully carrying my cross and following Christ every day?

🌾 Truth:
Daily obedience may require sacrifice, but a life surrendered to Christ produces lasting faithfulness and spiritual growth.

3. LOSE YOUR LIFE TO FIND IT

(Luke 9:24–25; John 12:25)

“For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will save it.”
— Luke 9:24

The world teaches people to ask, “What is in it for me?”

Investors often consider what returns they will receive before making commitments. However, God’s Kingdom operates differently.

God does not ask us to calculate what we will gain before following Him. Instead, He invites us to trust Him completely.

God Himself is our greatest treasure and our true wealth.

Jesus said:

“He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life.”
— John 12:25

When we surrender temporary comforts and earthly treasures for Christ, we gain eternal rewards that can never be taken away.

🌿 Application:

• What am I unwilling to surrender to Jesus?
• Am I carrying my cross daily?
• Am I living for temporary gain or eternal reward?

🌾 Truth:
When we surrender temporary things for Christ, we gain eternal treasures that will never fade away.

Only those who surrender everything to Christ truly discover the fullness of His Kingdom. What is given up for Jesus is never lost—it is exchanged for something far greater and eternal.

Tithes and Offering Challenge: Stewardship and Faithful Giving

“Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭2‬:‭15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

God entrusts humanity with the responsibility to care for His creation. He has given mankind authority over the earth, not to exploit it, but to steward it with wisdom, care, and faithfulness.

Do we truly believe that God will provide for all our needs?

“Seek ye first the kingdom of God…” reminds us that our priority should not be the things of this world, but the kingdom of God and His righteousness. When our hearts are aligned with Him, provision follows according to His will.

Faithful giving is an expression of trust. It reflects the understanding that everything we have comes from God, and that we are only stewards of His blessings. When we give consistently and sincerely, we acknowledge His lordship over our lives and resources.

God sees every act of generosity done with a willing heart, and He is faithful to provide, sustain, and guide those who trust in Him.

THE KINGDOM WITHIN YOU

(Luke 17:20–21; Romans 14:17)

“The Kingdom of God is not something that can be observed, because the Kingdom of God is within you.”

The Kingdom of God is not merely a visible earthly kingdom. It is a spiritual reality established in the hearts of those who submit to the authority of God. Jesus taught that being part of His Kingdom requires more than religious activity—it requires a transformed heart through the new birth.

Being a born-again believer is not merely a title. It is a life that reflects the reign of Christ.

The Pharisees were looking for a visible Kingdom of God. They expected something physical that could be observed. However, Jesus revealed that His Kingdom is spiritual and begins within the hearts of those who surrender to Him.

Nicodemus came to Jesus seeking understanding, and Jesus explained that those born of the flesh are flesh, but those born of the Spirit are spirit. This reminds us that being born again is not simply about religion but about spiritual transformation.

This leads us to ask: Are we truly born again?

If our spiritual life is dead, we cannot fully hear, understand, or respond to God’s voice. The Kingdom of God begins when a person submits to God’s authority and allows Him to reign in every area of life.

1. THE KINGDOM BEGINS IN THE HEART

(Luke 17:20–21)

Jesus taught that the Kingdom of God is not found through outward observation but through inward transformation.

The Kingdom becomes a reality in the life of every person who receives Christ as Lord and Savior. God’s reign first begins in the heart before it is expressed through outward actions.

Romans 14:17

“For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”

When Christ rules within us, righteousness, peace, and joy become evident in our lives.

Many commands of God are simple, yet challenging:

- Love your neighbor as yourself.
- Do not lie.
- Walk in obedience to God’s Word.

God does not need lies, excuses, or justifications to fulfill His plans. Kingdom citizens are called to submit to the King’s authority and obey His Word.

🌿 Application:
Examine whether Christ truly reigns in your heart. Are your decisions, desires, and priorities submitted to His authority?

🌾 Truth:
The Kingdom of God begins in the heart of every person who submits to the Lordship of Christ.

2. GOD’S RULE PRODUCES OUTWARD TRANSFORMATION

(Acts 9:1–22)

The life of Saul demonstrates the power of true transformation.

Saul believed he was serving God by persecuting Christians. Although he was religious, his heart was far from God’s purpose.

Everything changed when he encountered Jesus.

“I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.”

God transformed not only Saul’s actions but also his heart. The persecutor became one of the greatest servants of Christ.

Many believers become spiritually weak because they neglect:

- Reading the Bible
- Prayer
- Listening to God’s voice
- Fellowship with other believers

True transformation is not human effort. It is God’s work within us.

2 Corinthians 5:17

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”

The inward work of God always produces outward evidence of change.

🌿 Application:
Remain faithful in prayer, Scripture reading, and fellowship. Allow God to continually transform your heart and mind.

🌾 Truth:
When Christ reigns within, His transforming power becomes visible in the way we live.

The Kingdom of God is not merely something we are waiting for in the future. It is a present reality that begins in the heart and transforms every area of life.

As born-again believers, we are called to carry the Kingdom of God wherever we go—not only in church but also in our homes, workplaces, and relationships.

Title: Faithful Giving: Becoming a Blessing Through What God Has Entrusted

I read about a story in Bulgaria about a church during winter. The weather was extremely cold, and people would enter the church not only to seek warmth but also to survive the harsh season. One day, the church leaders looked for a sponsor to provide firewood so the church could continue to give warmth to those who came. Then came a realization: some members already had firewood in their homes. Instead of waiting for outside help, they were encouraged to share what they already had so others could benefit.

This story reflects a common mindset: “If only I were rich, then I could give.” Many people pray for provision while already holding blessings in their hands. But God does not ask us to give what we do not have—He asks us to be faithful with what He has already entrusted to us.

As written in 2 Corinthians 9:7, “Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”

Giving should come from a willing and joyful heart, not out of pressure or obligation.

In church, shared blessings often become a source of provision for others. Even in moments of struggle, when people choose to give faithfully, they become instruments of help for someone else.

Just like in the story in Bulgaria, when the firewood was shared, the church was able to endure the winter together. In the same way, when people faithfully give what God has provided, they become a blessing that helps others endure their own seasons.

THE LIFESTYLE OF THE KINGDOM
(Luke 6:27–46)

“If we’re talking about heaven to come.”

This reminds us that Kingdom living is not only about a future hope but a present reality. Jesus showed us an example of how to live in His Kingdom. The Kingdom of God must be established in our hearts and lived out here on earth. Jesus must reign in every area of life. We are called to be the light of the world, yet many times that light is hidden instead of revealed. “The Kingdom is in the midst” reminds us that the King is already present with His people.

INTRODUCTION

The Kingdom of God is not merely a future destination; it is a present way of life. Jesus teaches that those who belong to His Kingdom live differently from the world. While the world often promotes revenge, self-interest, and favoritism, Kingdom citizens are called to live in love, mercy, and grace.

A Kingdom person is compassionate—the one who loves even those they do not naturally like. Jesus Himself demonstrated this compassion, loving even those who rejected Him and giving His life for them.

One of the greatest hindrances in mission is when love for the world becomes greater than love for God. We are called instead to display the grace and love of God in our daily lives.

Stephen is a powerful example of loving enemies when he prayed, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them” (Acts 7:54–60).

The Christian life is not about earning God’s favor. God already loved us first—Christ died for us while we were still sinners. We are already accepted in Him. The question is whether we are living in gratitude and obedience to that love.

The love of God is reflected in how we treat our neighbors. The first ministry begins in the family. What value is there if we only love those who love us?

1. LOVE YOUR ENEMIES

Jesus calls His followers to love beyond natural response—love even enemies, the unlovable, and those who oppose us.

To love enemies means choosing forgiveness over retaliation, kindness over hatred, and prayer over revenge. This is the true mark of Kingdom living—loving beyond human limitation and responding with Christ-like compassion even when it is difficult.

🌿 Application:
Examine your heart toward those who have hurt or misunderstood you. Instead of holding resentment or seeking revenge, choose prayer, forgiveness, and intentional kindness.

🌾 Truth:
Kingdom love is proven not in comfort, but in how we respond to those who hurt us.

2. SHOW MERCY AS GOD SHOWS MERCY (Luke 6:32–35)

Anyone can love those who love them back. Even sinners do the same. Kingdom citizens, however, go beyond ordinary kindness by showing mercy to those who may not deserve it—just as God has shown mercy to us.

Mercy is not only helping others, but choosing forgiveness over retaliation.

How can we love the person who hurt us?
God is showing us that this is the lifestyle of His Kingdom.

🌿 Application:
Choose mercy when retaliation feels natural. Respond with prayer instead of revenge.

🌾 Truth:
Mercy is the evidence of a heart transformed by God.

3. RADICAL GRACE DEFINES KINGDOM CITIZENS (Luke 6:36)

Jesus concludes by saying, “Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.”

“You must be compassionate just as your God is compassionate.”

Kingdom citizens live by radical grace—reflecting the character of God in every situation.

Great is their reward in heaven. Everything we have is entrusted by God. We are stewards, not owners, called to faithfully reflect His grace in how we live.

🌿 Application:
Recognize that everything received from God is a trust to be managed with humility and obedience.

🌾 Truth:
Grace defines those who truly belong to the Kingdom.

CHOOSE FORGIVENESS OVER RETALIATION

Choose forgiveness instead of retaliation. Retaliation resists God’s Word and replaces obedience with pride.

God’s Word is one truth revealed in 66 books—complete and unchanging. When we receive it, we respond with obedience, not resistance, because it is the decree of the King.

So instead of revenge, choose forgiveness. Instead of anger, choose prayer for those who hurt you.

God breathed life into us, which is why we live and understand. But it is tragic when those who know Him no longer walk in His will. This is why prayer and surrender must be constant.

We must be born again to enter the Kingdom of God—because Kingdom citizens are connected to the King. Those born of the Spirit are continually renewed by the Spirit.

We always return to our Maker, the One who gave us life. Let the Holy Spirit awaken every heart—even dry bones—and bring life again.

TITLE: TITHES AND OFFERING: GIVING WITH A FAITHFUL HEART

“Money makes the world go round.” In today’s world, money is often seen as one of the most powerful things in life. But when money increases, it can also open the door to greed and selfishness. The Bible reminds us that money itself is not the problem, but the “love of money” that corrupts the heart.

“For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil.”
— 1 Timothy 6:10

Money is not evil because it is a provision from God. However, everything we have—our finances, abilities, and even life itself—comes from the Lord. We are not the source; God is the source of everything.

Some people believe that tithing is no longer necessary or that giving should only depend on personal preference. But in the principle of God’s Kingdom, tithing is an act of honoring God as the owner of everything we have.

Tithing is not just about percentage—it is about priority. It is a declaration that God comes first and that everything we have belongs to Him.

When God entrusts us with small things, He also prepares us for greater responsibilities. Faithfulness in little things opens the door for greater trust and blessings from God.

Giving is not just an action of the hands, but a posture of the heart. It is an acknowledgment that everything we receive comes from God, and we return it to Him with gratitude and trust.

True giving begins with a heart that believes, trusts, and recognizes God as the ultimate provider—whether in abundance or in lack.

If God has entrusted you with 10,000, can you not set aside 1,000 in return to Him with a grateful heart? Giving is not about loss, but about recognizing that everything already came from God, and offering back a portion as an act of trust, gratitude, and honor. When the heart is thankful, giving is no longer a burden but a joyful response to God’s faithfulness.
