True wisdom doesn’t start with IQ, experience, or knowledge. It starts with a right posture toward God.

1“Fear of the Lord” = reverent awe, respect, and trust in God as holy and in charge. It’s not terror, but recognizing He’s God and you’re not.

2. “Beginning of wisdom” = this is the foundation. Without it, everything else you know is just information without direction.

3. “Knowledge of the Holy One” = knowing God personally gives you real insight into how life actually works.

If you want to live wisely, start by taking God seriously. Everything else gets aligned when He’s first.

Paul’s talking about giving to support other believers. The point isn’t how much you give, but _how_ you give.

1.Give intentionally “as he has decided in his heart” = don’t give on autopilot or peer pressure. Make it a thought-out decision between you and God.

2. Give willingly “not reluctantly or under compulsion” = God doesn’t want guilt-giving or forced tithes. If your heart’s not in it, it misses the point.

3. Give joyfully “God loves a cheerful giver” = He loves when we give with gratitude, like someone who knows they’ve already been given everything in Christ.

Generosity in the Christian life flows from a heart that’s been changed by grace, not from obligation.

The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe.

Fear of man = a trap
When you care more about what people think than what God thinks, you get caught.
- You compromise to avoid rejection.
- You stay quiet when you should speak.
- You make decisions based on approval, not conviction.

It’s a “snare” because it looks harmless at first, but it controls you and keeps you stuck.

Trust in the Lord = safety
Trusting God means you answer to Him first.
- His opinion is final.
- His approval is secure.
- His plan is bigger than people’s opinions.

When you fear God, you stop fearing people. You’re free to obey, speak truth, and live without people-pleasing.

Peter denied Jesus 3 times because he feared people in the courtyard. Later, he preached boldly because he feared God more than the Sanhedrin. Acts 4:19-20

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

Power from the Holy Spirit*
Jesus tells the disciples they won’t do mission in their own strength. The Holy Spirit gives them power - for boldness, for changed lives, for supernatural help. It’s not about being smart or talented, but being Spirit-empowered.

Be witnesses
A witness doesn’t argue theology. A witness tells what they’ve seen and experienced. Jesus says “you will be my witnesses” - your life becomes the evidence that He’s alive.

The Spirit gives you power, and that power’s purpose is to make Jesus known - starting where you are and going outward.
