The Pentecost is a festival celebrated 50 days after the resurrection of Jesus Christ, where Jews from many nations gathered, each speaking different languages. And Peter, despite the language barrier and his sin of previously denying Christ, was restored and boldly proclaimed the gospel to the crowd. His story reminds us that preaching the gospel is a miracle because a perfect God chooses imperfect people to be His witnesses.
The challenges of sharing the gospel in Peterโs time and in ours may look different, but they come from the same problem: relying on ourselves instead of God. Fear, insecurity, distractions, and concern about what others think can keep us from obeying His call. Yet the Holy Spirit enables all believers, regardless of their background, education, or past sins, to boldly proclaim the gospel.
Sharing the gospel is not about our abilities but about willingly trusting and obeying God as we participate in His mission and bring His message to the world.
