Hope for Silang | Medical Mission

“Hope for Silang” Medical Mission, held from August 31 to September 4, 2026, provides free medical, wellness, and dental services to individuals and families in need, reflecting faith through compassionate and professional service.

The 1000MM Campus, which has long been a home for medical volunteer services and community outreach, continues to play an important role in this mission. Its Memorial Hall has served as a venue for dental services, highlighting the campus not only as a place of learning and mission training, but also as a center where healthcare, compassion, and community service come together.

Carrying the same spirit of service, the Campus Men Missionaries from 1000MM were honored to present a special song during the opening program of Mission Emphasis Week at AIIAS on August 30, 2026, under the theme “Called to Serve: Faith in Action, Hope in Community.” Their participation reminded the AIIAS community that ministry can take many forms—from medical and dental care to music and fellowship.

As Mission Emphasis Week begins, the 1000MM Campus continue to be a home of service and hope, inspiring us to use our talents and lives as instruments of God’s mission and to become hope for others.

Happy Sabbath!

This Sabbath, we are reminded that no matter what happens, our hope is in God.

“We have nothing to fear for the future, except as we shall forget how God has led us in the past.” -EGW

May we rest in His presence, trust His plan, and remember that He is still in control.

Twenty-five years is a long time.

Long enough for people to forget.
Long enough for a life to take a different direction.
Long enough for hope to seem impossible.

But what happens when God has not forgotten?
How does a twenty-five-year-old story of wandering, prayer, and restoration unfold?

He had carried a painful cyst for years.

But what broke my heart wasn’t what I saw on his neck—it was what I saw in his eyes: a man who had stopped believing that God could help him.

A story of pain. A story of faith. A story of something only God could write.

They were branded as monsters…

"Wag kayong pumunta dyan mga aswang ang nakatira dyan"

Those were the hurtful words the old couple often heard.

The same words Roen and Sammy chose to ignore because what Roen and Sammy discovered inside that shabby little house leave them speechless.

What really happens when love dares to enter where fear once ruled?

“What Are We Reading? “

Give attention to reading. 1 Timothy 4:13.

The enemy knows that to a great degree the mind is affected by that upon which it feeds. He is seeking to lead both the youth and those of mature age to read story books, tales, and other literature. Those who yield to this temptation soon lose their relish for solid reading. They have no interest in Bible study. Their moral powers become enfeebled. Sin appears less and less repulsive. There is manifest an increasing unfaithfulness, a growing distaste for life’s practical duties. As the mind becomes perverted, it is ready to grasp any reading of a stimulating character....

Works that do not so decidedly mislead and corrupt are yet to be shunned, if they impart a disrelish for the study of the Bible. This Word is the true manna. Let all repress the desire for reading matter that is not food for the mind. You cannot possibly do the work of God with clear perception while the mind is occupied with this class of reading....

Question your own experience as to the influence of light reading. Can you, after spending time in such reading, open the Bible and read with interest the words of life? Do you not find the Book of God uninteresting? ...

In order to have a healthy tone of mind and sound religious principles, we must live in communion with God through His Word. Pointing out the way of salvation, the Bible is our guide to a higher, better life. It contains the most interesting and most instructive history and biography that were ever written. Those whose imaginations have not been perverted by the reading of fiction will find the Bible the most interesting of all books.

Resolutely discard all worthless reading. Such reading will not strengthen your spirituality, but will introduce into the mind sentiments that will pervert the imagination, causing you to think less of Jesus and to dwell less upon His precious lessons....

The Bible is the Book of books. If you love the Word, searching it as you have opportunity, that you may come into the possession of the rich treasure that it contains and be thoroughly furnished unto all good works, then you may be assured that Jesus is drawing you to Himself.—Signs of the Times, June 13, 1906.

“Takbo. Huwag kang lilingon.”

Those were the moments when fear took over.

I went to a mission field thinking I was simply going to help a young church member.

I never imagined that before the day was over, I would be running for my life—barefoot, hiding in the woods, and praying for God to spare me.

“For the Race of Life"

Let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith. Hebrews 12:1, 2.

Envy, malice, evil thinking, evilspeaking, covetousness—these are weights that the Christian must lay aside if he would run successfully the race for immortality. Every habit or practice that leads into sin and brings dishonor upon Christ, must be put away, whatever the sacrifice. The blessing of heaven cannot attend any man in violating the eternal principles of right....

The competitors in the ancient games, after they had submitted to self-denial and rigid discipline, were not even then sure of the victory.... However eagerly and earnestly the runners might strive, the prize could be awarded to but one. One hand only could grasp the coveted garland. Some might put forth the utmost effort to obtain the prize, but as they reached forth the hand to secure it, another, an instant before them, might grasp the coveted treasure.

Such is not the case in the Christian warfare. Not one who complies with the conditions will be disappointed at the end of the race. Not one who is earnest and persevering will fail of success. The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong. The weakest saint, as well as the strongest, may wear the crown of immortal glory. All may win who, through the power of divine grace, bring their lives into conformity to the will of Christ.... Every act casts its weight into the scale that determines life’s victory or defeat. And the reward given to those who win will be in proportion to the energy and earnestness with which they have striven....

Paul knew that his warfare against evil would not end so long as life should last. Ever he realized the need of putting a strict guard upon himself, that earthly desires might not overcome spiritual zeal. With all his power he continued to strive against natural inclinations. Ever he kept before him the ideal to be attained, and this ideal he strove to reach by willing obedience to the law of God. His words, his practices, his passions—all were brought under the control of the Spirit of God.53The Acts of the Apostles, 312-315.
