Lately, weโve been seeing the trendโlooking back at where we were ten years ago.
And as we join in, we realize this is more than a comparison of then and now. ๐ง๐ต๐ถ๐ ๐ถ๐ ๐ฎ ๐๐ฒ๐๐๐ถ๐บ๐ผ๐ป๐.
Ten years ago, we were a different picture.
Different instruments in our hands, fragile walls around us, and lives shaped by survival rather than certainty. Yet even then, God was already at workโquietly, faithfully, patiently. One thing has never changedโ๐๐ค๐โ๐จ ๐๐๐๐ฉ๐๐๐ช๐ก๐ฃ๐๐จ๐จ.
In ๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐จ๐ค ๐๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ฌ๐๐ฒ, ๐๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ๐ก๐จ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ ๐
๐๐ข๐ญ๐ก ๐๐จ๐ฌ๐ฉ๐๐ฅ ๐๐ก๐ฎ๐ซ๐๐ก, the transformation is undeniable. We remember the days when the roads were not yet concrete. When heavy rains meant mud, flooding near our homes, and difficulty just getting through the day. Today, those same paths stand firmโno longer a struggle, but a blessing we walk on daily, reminding us how far God has brought us.
Our covered court tells another story of grace. Before, every event meant renting tents just to escape the heat of the sunโwedding receptions filled with sweat, dresses heavy, smiles tested. When rain came, many celebrations were postponed or canceled altogether. Now, we gather without fear of the weather, protected, and free to celebrate milestones without worry, only gratitude.
Our church holds perhaps the deepest memories.
Once made of bamboo, small enough for barely ten families. Chairs were improvised from trees, the floor was not concrete, and rain would turn worship into a struggle as water and mud entered the sanctuary. Strong winds carried sand and ash during praise, yet worship never stopped.
The music began with a single hollow guitar, strummed simply so a song could carry a melody. Words were sometimes imperfect, lyrics twisted, yet our praise was realโโBasta kita ra ang Ginoo sa tinuod nga panagdayeg sulod sa mga kasing-kasing.โ Because what mattered most was not perfection, but sincere praise rising from grateful hearts. Electric fans were a luxury we could not afford, so people brought their own hand-fans, enduring the heat with joy just to worship.
And then there are the livesโstories that bring us to tears when we remember.
Homes were once built from light materials, built not for comfort but for shelter, just enough to sleep under. Having one meal a day was already considered a blessing. Today, daghan nami'g bahawโleftover riceโnot because of lack, but a proof of God has provided more than enough.
There was a time when sending children to school felt almost impossibleโdreams paused by poverty, futures limited by circumstances. Yet God made a way. Today, those same children are graduates, professionals, and leaders. Some who once walked barefoot to school now ride motorcycles and drive vehiclesโso many that parking has become a challenge in our Purok. And we smile at that, because it is a beautiful problem born out of blessing.
Everything has changed. Our speech, our clothing, our homes, our lives have been lifted โall transformed. But more than these, our hearts have learned to trust deeper, hope stronger, and believe biggerโevidence of a God who restores and provides.
This is more than a trend, more than a throwback. This is a living testimony of what God has done in us, through us, and for us. Our church has grown, our community has been shaped, but above all, lives have been transformed.
We have seen Him move in quiet beginnings and in powerful breakthroughs. He sustained us when we were few, strengthened us when we were weak, and carried us faithfully to where we stand today.

With grateful hearts, we look back. With trusting hearts, we move forward.
