Today, September 8, we celebrate the birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary. We celebrate this day, as through her birth, we have received the promised salvation of Jesus Christ. ๐Ÿ™

May we aspire to be as obedient and embracing as she was. Compassionate, kind, and understanding. As Jesusโ€™ mother, she not only fulfilled her role in birthing the Son of God but also guided and raised him well. May we all be a guiding light to the people we know. โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿ”ฅ

Last September 1, a beloved professor of science, Asst. Prof. Enrico M. Yambao, MSc, has joined our Father in heaven.

During his time in UST College of Science, he served as the Department Chair of the Math and Physics Department. He had served the student body with excellence and had taught and inspired countless students and colleagues.

The Pax Romana - Science Unit joins the community and his loved ones in mourning. We are deeply grateful for his service and pray for his eternal slumber alongside the Father.

Together, let us pray,

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.

Last August 27, the College of Science gathered to officially celebrate the First Monthly Mass for this Academic Year 2026 - 2027. May this Mass mark the journey of our Thomasian Scientist and guide them towards a year of excellence.

ADVISORY ON THE USE OF THE UST NAME, SEAL, AND LOGO BY STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS | September 1, 2026

The Office for Student Affairs (OSA) reminds all student organizations to observe University policies on organizational recognition and the responsible use of the Universityโ€™s name, seal, logo, and other identifying marks.

Under the UST Student Handbook, the name โ€œUniversity of Santo Tomasโ€ or โ€œUST,โ€ and its registered seal, may not be used unless duly authorized by the Office of the Secretary-General (OSG) and duly processed through the pertinent University offices.

Accordingly, organizations or groups that are not included in the official list of recognized student organizations for A.Y. 2026โ€“2027, including those with pending or incomplete applications, should refrain from using the official UST seal, logo, name, or other University marks in a manner that may imply official recognition, accreditation, endorsement, or authorization by the University. This prohibition applies to social media pages and posts, publicity and event materials, registration forms, correspondence, sponsorship materials, merchandise, organizational documents, and other printed or digital materials.

Duly recognized organizations are encouraged to help preserve and promote the Universityโ€™s identity by securing the appropriate authorization before using the UST name, seal, logo, or other identifying marks, consistent with applicable laws and University policies.

Student organizations that may need guidance on their recognition status or the proper use of University marks are welcome to coordinate with OSA.

Once a sinner, yet is now a saint. St. Augustine of Hippo reminds us that there is redemption and forgiveness to be found even as we deem ourselves unworthy because of our sins. ๐Ÿ™

St. Augustine had been a restless youth who had sought a lot of adventures in his youth, he had sinned, lived a life of pleasure, and searched for truth in different philosophies yet found that rest, truth, and contentment can only be found with God. ๐Ÿซ€

May his feast serve as a reminder, that God will always continue to wait for us, redeem us, even after we sinned, even when we feel unworthy of saving. Only He asks that we seek His enlightenment and initiate to change for the better. ๐Ÿ“ฟ
