Kuya Aerol leads us in a vibrant and spirit-filled praisefest, reminding us that it is not enough that we are aware that we are loved. Our response is important too. To respond to His love is to allow Him into our lives even if we feel unworthy. 🥹

We are sent forth to be joyful witnesses of mercy in our mission areas – in our families, in our schools, in our workplaces, in our service, and more. Let us be assured of the Holy Spirit’s presence that empowers us to continue living out loud for Him. As one family and community in Christ, we always be united to be and bring Him wherever we are.

SESSION 3: CARRIERS OF JOY

For our last session, Bro. Jeff first highlighted the importance of seeing God’s beauty, even in the little things. The God who is present in the grand moments of our lives is also in the mundane and ordinary.

He also shared that in the Eucharist, Jesus reveals a deeper beauty—the beauty of communion, of shared life, and of sacrifice. All these lead us to experience joy, which unlike happiness is fleeting and is rooted in being aware of God’s presence despite the challenges that we face. Joy is the fruit of faith and gratitude. It also sends us on a mission.

As joy and love are inseparable gifts of the Holy Spirit, we must always be equipped with these as we extend the table to those God calls us to invite.

For our afternoon worship, Kuya Jerecho reminded us through his story that while God might bring us to unfamiliar places, it is His way of actively working in us so that we can grow more in love and faith. No matter where He leads us, let us always remember that our true home is in Him. Despite our unworthiness, He is always with us and will never forsake us.

Today, as we celebrate the Solemnity of Pentecost, Cardinal Advincula shared with us three (3) gifts of the Holy Spirit; that is, the Holy Spirit enlightens us, emboldens us, and ennobles us.

First, enlightened. The Holy Spirit gives us the fire that enlightens our minds and hearts. We are led to see more of God’s greatness in our lives.

Second, emboldened. Just as how the apostles were transformed from being fearful to being eager to proclaim His word, we are also given the strength to power through even if we are facing our own struggles.

Lastly, ennobled. The Holy Spirit uplifts us as children of God, allowing us to become more than we could ever be on our own. From being weak, selfish, fearful, and divided, the Holy Spirit leads us to be more fruitful and Christ-like.

We are also reminded that Pentecost is not just merely a feast to remember but a grace to receive. With this, let us allow the grace of Pentecost to always be alive in us by pursuing holiness, spreading goodness, and striving to be like Christ.

Amid all the noise, we are in the presence of a true friend.

In the Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, we are invited to pause and be with Jesus. In the silence of our hearts, we are reminded that His presence has no limits, meeting us right where we are.
