𝗠𝗮𝗯𝘂𝗵𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗴𝗮 𝗸𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗶𝗵𝗮𝗻! ✊️♀️

This International Women's Day, the United Methodist Youth Fellowship in the Philippines (UMYFP) joins in celebrating the lives of all daughters, partners, sisters, mothers, grandmothers, solo parents, and all women in the world.

As United Methodists, we continue to urge the church, governments, and civic bodies to ensure women's rights to live free from harassment, discrimination, violence, domestic or workplace abuse, human trafficking, and other forms of gender-based violence in all times and places (UMC Social Principles, 2024).

May all women live free from gendered expectations that limit their full development as human beings.

Here’s to every woman who leads, inspires, uplifts, and serves with purpose.

To the ones who carry quiet strength, whose courage refuses to stay silent, who choose understanding over judgment (because choosing compassion does not mean being weak—it means knowing your strength, standing your ground, and still choosing to rise above), and whose resilience shines even when it goes unseen.

"𝑰𝒇 𝒘𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒂𝒊𝒏 𝒑𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒐𝒃𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅’𝒔 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒐𝒔, 𝒊𝒕 𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝒎𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒄𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒕."

That is not what the United Methodist Church (UMC) teaches us to do. The UMC reminds us of God’s love. A love that 𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀 𝗷𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲, calls us to 𝗯𝗲 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲, and 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗳𝘂𝗹.

Maraming salamat, Ate Vannessa Jane Dabay, for reminding us that our faith is meant to move, not stay silent.

'LAHAT NG SANGKOT, DAPAT MANAGOT!'

Nakiisa ang mga kabataan ng United Methodist Youth Fellowship in the Philippines (UMYFP) sa naganap na Baha sa Luneta 2.0 noong Nobyembre 30, 2025, kasama ang United Methodist Young Adult Fellowship in the Philippines (UMYFAP), UMC - Philippines Regional Conference - Board of Church and Society (PRC-BCS), National Council of Churches in the Philippines (NCCP), Promotion of Church People's Response (PCPR), at iba pang grupo ng mga taong simbahan.

Mula sa isang pagsamba sa San Agustin Church ng Intramuros, sama-samang nagmartsa ang taong simbahan patungong Luneta, hanggang sa Mendiola, upang ipanawagang panagutin lahat ng sangkot sa korapsyon, ikulong ang mga kurakot, at gayundin, magkaroon ng SYSTEM CHANGE, sapagkat ang korapsyon ay nag-uugat sa sistemang mapaniil at mapagsamantala, na matagal nang umiiral sa gobyerno ng Pilipinas.

Muling binitbit ng mga kabataan ang panawagan at panlipunang prinsipyo (Social Principles) ng United Methodist Church, "We firmly oppose graft, bribery, and all forms of corruption," na isang pagpapahayag ng pagtutol ng simbahan sa pagnanakaw sa gobyerno, panunuhol, at iba pang uri ng korapsyon bilang paglabag sa tiwala sa publiko at mga sagka sa pagbuo ng mga lipunang may katarungan at pagkakapantay.

TAMA NA. SOBRA NA.

Hindi na panahon para manahimik sa harap ng pang-aabuso, kundi, bilang mga taong simbahan, tayo mismo ang dapat nangunguna sa pagtindig laban sa anumang porma ng kasamaan (Efeso 6:11), na nagpapahirap sa ating sambayanan.

Ang ating pakikisangkot sa mga sistema ng pulitika ay nakaugat sa kautusang nakapaloob sa Mabuting Balita, na mahalin natin ang ating kapwa, na gumawa ng mg bagay na makatarungan, na kumalinga sa mga mahihina (Mga Panlipunang Prinsipyo ng Nagkakaisang Iglesiya Metodista, 2024).

Dala ang ating biennial theme ngayong 2024-2026, patuloy ang ating pag-"TINDIG" para sa kabutihan, hustisya, at pagmamahal, taglay ang pananampalatayang itinuro sa atin ng ating mahal na simbahan.
