Today, on the 21st Sunday in Ordinary Time, Jesus poses a deeply personal question to His disciples and to each one of us: โ€œWho do you say that I am?โ€

Jesus reminds us that faith is more than simply knowing about Himโ€”it is knowing Him, trusting Him, and choosing to follow Him. Like Peter, may we have the courage to recognize Jesus as the Christ and let that faith shape the way we live. And like Mamma Mary, may our โ€œyesโ€ to God become a daily choice to love, trust, and follow Him.

One week after celebrating Mama Mary's glorious Assumption, the Church joyfully honors her as Queen of Heaven and Earth.

But Mamma Mary's crown is unlike any earthly crown. Her greatness began with her humble Fiatโ€”her wholehearted โ€œyesโ€ to God. โ€œBehold, I am the handmaid of the Lord.โ€ Through that yes, she welcomed Jesus, remained faithful even at the foot of the Cross, and now shares in His glory.

In 1954, Pope Pius XII established this feast to honor Mary's Queenship and her unique place beside Christ the King.

Mama Mary's Queenship is not about power or distance. She is a Queen who comes close. She listens, intercedes, comforts, and always leads us closer to Jesus.

And whatever you carry today, your worries, family, vocation, struggles, or prayers you cannot put into wordsโ€”bring them to Mama Mary. Place them in her loving hands and trust her to bring them closer to the heart of her Son.

May our Queen and Mother teach us to trust God even when we do not understand, to remain faithful through every trial, and to give our own Fiatโ€”our โ€œyesโ€ to Godโ€”each day.

Hail, Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness, and our hope.
