(Romans 5:5)
As Pilgrims of Hope, the faithful from the four vicariates of the Diocese of Bangued gathered as one family of faith for the 2025 at St. James the Elder Cathedral. In this sacred gathering, prayers rose from joyful hearts and wounded ones, each trusting in a God who remains present even when answers are delayed and the path is unclear.
๐๐ฎ๐๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฎ๐ป, ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐, ๐๐, presided over the celebration, which included priests from different parishes. The event reminded us that Christian hope is not based on comfort or certainty but on faith in a God who is faithful. Like ๐๐ฏ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ต๐ฎ๐บ, who believed beyond reason; like ๐ ๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐, who moved forward without seeing the end; like ๐๐ผ๐ฏ, who held on even when everything was taken away; and like ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐, who trusted Godโs word over her own understandingโhope endured because God never failed.
Even in the darkest hour, hope did not falter. On the Cross, silence felt final, pain seemed victorious, and death appeared absolute. Yet from that very place of suffering came the Resurrection, a clear reminder that Godโs promises are fulfilled not in our time, but in His perfect love.
Hope never disappoints because it is born from Godโs love poured into our hearts. It does not guarantee an easy life, but it promises Godโs presence. It does not take away the cross, but it assures us that the cross is never the end.
As we close this Jubilee Year, we are left with a question that reaches beyond this moment:
May we leave with a hope that endures, a faith that stands firm, and a love that shines light for othersโuntil hope is no longer something we hold, but something we live.
