In the photo | The official first and final canvassing of candidates for the upcoming Santacruzan is currently taking place in preparation for one of the most cherished Catholic traditions in the community. The Santacruzan is more than just a procession — it is a celebration of faith, devotion, and the search for the Holy Cross by Reyna Elena and her son, Emperor Constantine.

As preparations begin, this meaningful tradition continues to bring people together, showcasing unity, culture, elegance, and deep spiritual devotion. May this year’s Santacruzan be filled with grace, blessings, and a renewed sense of community for everyone involved.

HOLY WEEK | As we enter the most sacred days of our faith, we are invited to journey together as one parish community through the Holy Week and the Sacred Paschal Triduum. These days remind us of the greatest act of love; the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. Through the liturgies and activities prepared, may we not just attend, but truly pray, reflect, and walk with Christ in His suffering, so that we may also share in the joy of His Resurrection.

We encourage everyone to take time to pause from the busyness of life and give space for prayer and silence. Let this Holy Week be a time for forgiveness, healing, reconciliation, and renewed faith. May these sacred celebrations help us understand more deeply how much the Lord loves us, and may this love transform our hearts.

Please be guided by the schedule of activities and we hope to see you as we celebrate the Holy Week and the Sacred Paschal Triduum together as one faith community.

UPDATE | With grateful hearts, our team from Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish attended the 2-Day Parish Missionary Companions Trainor’s Training held on February 20–22, 2026 at San Telmo Parish, Aparri, Cagayan. Representing our Parish Conversion Team were Marita L. Adviento, Marlon B. Bancud, and Zarex John B. Baccay.

Over the course of the training, we were reminded that being missionary companions means creating spaces where every voice matters, especially those often unheard. Through reflection, group processes, and guided discernment, we gained practical tools to foster Synodality in our parish, rooted in prayer, humility, and openness to the Spirit’s movement. We return inspired and ready to help cultivate a listening Church, one that journeys together in faith, unity, and service for the greater glory of God.

SUNDAY REFLECTION | Fr. Mimoy’s homily today reminds us that Advent is not only a countdown to Christmas but a call to return to God with sincerity. His words, “One day everything will come to its proper place,” point us to the truth that God sees everything and sets things right in His time. This promise is both comforting and challenging. It comforts those who suffer and remain faithful. It challenges those who choose dishonesty or apathy, because nothing stays hidden from the Lord who brings justice where it is due.

As Father shared, Advent shares a deep connection with Lent. Both seasons call us to humility and total change. External preparations like decorations and busy schedules will always be part of December, but the Gospel asks us to focus on something deeper. Within us is the seat of our conscience, the place where God dwells. If our hearts remain unexamined, no amount of outward preparation can make us ready for Christ. John the Baptist, whose voice echoes in the Gospel today, is the example of humility that leads to real conversion. His life shows us how to prepare the way for the Lord with sincerity, simplicity, and truth.

The readings also speak strongly to our reality as a country. Isaiah’s promise of a world where righteousness and peace flourish feels far from what we see around us. Corruption continues to harm the poor, destroy trust, and weaken our communities. The Gospel calls us to repent, yet we still struggle to do what Christ already showed us through His own life. Father Mimoy reminded us that Jesus already lived the example. He already forgave, served, and loved without condition. The sad truth is that we have seen His example, but we still find it hard to follow.

As we light the candle of peace this Second Sunday of Advent, we pray for peace that is not shallow or decorative. We pray for peace that grows from honesty, justice, and humility. Real peace begins when we allow God to cleanse our inner selves. It begins when we choose integrity even when no one is watching. It begins when we reject corruption in our own small decisions, not just in the headlines. If we let God form us this season, we become worthy vessels of Christ who is about to be born. And little by little, as Father said, everything in our lives, in our communities, and in our nation will find its proper place in God’s time.

To our PPCRV Volunteers:

As the voting concludes and the counting nears its completion, we find ourselves witnessing the proclamations of candidates, leading us toward a moment of quiet reflection after the electoral fervor.

The consensus among the public is that the election unfolded in a free and democratic manner. Results arrived swiftly, and while there were some instances of peace and order disturbances, they were notably fewer than what is typically expected during an election season.

At PPCRV, aside from those dedicated to the Command Center, Public Relations, and Communications, as well as the Random Manual Audit (RMA), we are gradually returning to our daily routines.

We seek neither accolades nor high-profile recognition for our efforts. Our commitment to our country has never been motivated by a desire for honor or fame; rather, it has stemmed from a profound sense of duty—service to a nation that has relied on our efforts for over three decades. The enduring presence of PPCRV is a testament to our relevance and effectiveness in enhancing the credibility of elections. Our rewards lie not in plaques or certificates, but in the deep personal fulfillment that arises from knowing we have contributed positively to our nation, safeguarding the freedom of our people to choose their leaders democratically.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees of PPCRV, as well as our National and Regional Coordinators, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our volunteers. Your unwavering dedication and selfless service have ensured a successful oversight of polling places, assistance to every voter in need, and the completion of your duties, even into the late hours of the night. In the face of long hours, sweltering heat, and limited resources, your steadfast commitment to delivering a CHAMP election has shone brightly.

You, our volunteers stand as beacons of exemplary citizenship, embodying the hope that our nation can forge a brighter future. Through the inspired leadership of the Church and guided by noble aspirations, you have channeled your utmost efforts toward the motherland you cherish.

To each and every PPCRV volunteer, we extend our deepest thanks. The Philippines is truly fortunate to have you at its side. May you continue to embody the spirit of love and service for God and Country. With the help of our God, PPCRV shall continue to be the stewards of future CHAMP elections.
