Flores de Mayo is almost here… and quietly, gently, it is calling us home to a deeper love for our Blessed Mother.
This is more than a tradition we grew up seeing. It is a sacred moment a whole month where heaven feels just a little closer, where simple days become holy. In every offered flower, in every whispered Rosary, in every gathering of families and children, we are reminded of a love so pure the love of Mary, who gave her whole heart to God without hesitation.
Each flower we bring carries a story. It may hold a prayer we cannot say out loud, a pain we’ve been silently carrying, a hope we’re still holding onto, or a gratitude too deep for words. Flores de Mayo teaches us something the world often forgets that even the smallest offering, when given with love, reaches heaven.
Mary’s life speaks softly, yet powerfully, into our own. Her humility humbles us. Her obedience challenges us. Her quiet strength meets us in our struggles. She reminds us that saying “yes” to God is not always easy but it is always worth it.
And as the month unfolds, we are not just asked to admire her we are invited to become like her. To love more deeply. To trust more fully. To surrender more completely.
So as Flores de Mayo begins, may it touch more than our eyes may it reach our hearts.
May we come not just as spectators, but as youth offering ourselves.
And like flowers in bloom, may our lives open more fully to God one prayer, one sacrifice, one quiet “yes” at a time.
