Today, our EYM members gathered for Lectio Divina and reflected on John 14:15–21, especially Jesus’ words:
“I will not leave you as orphans.” (John 14:18)
During our Dear Jesus Journal sharing, many hearts were moved by the pain and struggles of the families affected by the recent fire in Lower Barangay, which left around 1000+ families homeless. It was heartbreaking to realize how many suddenly lost their homes, memories, and sense of safety.
In our own small way, we responded as best as we could through the immediate preparation and distribution of simple relief packs for our affected EYM kids and their families. We are deeply grateful to our EYM family and everyone who shared their blessings, generosity, time, and prayers to make these possible.
As additional help, EYM SAPP also shared 100 bath soaps through the parish initiative for other fire victims in the community.
Just before our planned gathering for Lectio Divina, Holy Mass, and relief distribution, another fire broke out in Sta. Maria Street near Lower Barangay, leaving around 30 more families homeless. The situation became even heavier, reminding us to continue responding with compassion, prayer, and hope.
We continue to pray for all affected families and remain open to anyone who would still like to share blessings for the community.
