HIPAC HOSTS UMYAF 3RD NATIONAL COUNCIL MEETING
The Hundred Islands Philippines Annual Conference (HIPAC) hosted the United Methodist Young Adult Fellowship of the Philippines (UMYAF) 3rd National Council MEETING (NCM) on August 25-27, 2023 at Bolinao Central United Methodist Church, Bolinao, Pangasinan with the theme: Encouragement.
In the two-day council meeting, the members National Executive Committee, headed by the National President, Renan De Dios, the advisers, and delegates from the twelve (12) Annual Conferences (AC) all over the country convened to present the current statuses, best practices to share the vision and mission of the UMYAF, and the challenges being encountered of not only the UMYAF organization but also the United Methodist Church (UMC) in general in their respective ACs. A total of thirty four (34) registered delegates, twelve (12) workers including three (3) District Superintendents, and fourteen (14) visitors attended the NCM.
The proposed amendments of the UMYAF Constitution were also presented by the members of the Constitutional Convention (ConCon) Committee during the meeting. The proposals will be deliberated during the Constitutional Convention come November 2023 and the final ratification will be on the 20th NUMYAF Biennial Convention in 2024.
One of the highlights of the 3rd NCM is the Toureach, an outreach activity cm tour in some of the tourist destinations in the Municipality of Bolinao. The National Execom prepared school supplies and slippers while some of the delegates brought preloved clothes and were distributed to the recipient Patar Mission CHURCH in Patar Bolinao, a mission church of the Lighthouse UMC in Balingasay, Bolinao.
On the 3rd day, the delegates joined the Bolinao UMC Congregation in the Sunday worship service where Pres. Renan shared the word of God as the guest preacher. In his message, he emphasized that in times of discouragement, there will always be God's perfect timing to encourage us. We can encourage others by words and by sharing God's promises.
Finally, the Executive Council is grateful for the warm welcome and extraordinary accommodation of the host church, the Bolinao Central UMC, the members of the Church Council, the Administration and the entire congregation; the host district, the Pangasinan West Island District (PWID); the host conference, the HIPAC; the individuals; and the organizations who in one or the other shared their treasures, talent, time and efforts for the success of the 3rd NCM.
