Today we celebrate the 1993rd birthday of the Catholic Church — a Church founded by Christ and strengthened by the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. For almost two millennia, the Church has continued to spread the Gospel, celebrate the Sacraments, and guide millions of faithful around the world. 🕊️⛪

Happy Birthday to the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church! May we continue to live our faith with love, humility, and obedience to God. Through every generation, Christ remains the heart of His Church. ❤️🙏

Usa ka Espiritu, usa ka pagtuo, usa ka Simbahan. Malipayong Domingo sa Pentecostes sa tanan!🕊️🤍

PENTECOST IS NEAR!
THE CHURCH AWAKENS ONCE MORE!

Pentecost is drawing near—the powerful feast when the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles and the Church was born in fire, faith, and mission.

Fifty days after Easter, while the disciples gathered in the Upper Room, the Holy Spirit came upon them like a mighty wind and tongues of fire. Fear was replaced with courage. Doubt gave way to faith. Silence became proclamation. From that moment, the followers of Christ were transformed into a missionary Church sent forth to the nations.

This is why Pentecost is called the “birthday of the Church.” It marks the beginning of the Church’s mission to preach the Gospel to the ends of the earth—not by human power, but through the strength and guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Pentecost reminds us of:
• the beginning of the Church’s mission
• the gift of courage and bold faith
• the unity of believers in Christ
• and the outpouring of God’s divine Spirit upon His people

And so, Pentecost is not merely a feast we remember—it is a grace we continue to experience. Each year, the Holy Spirit renews the Church, rekindles hearts, and calls us once again to become witnesses of Christ in the world.

Come, Holy Spirit.
Set our hearts on fire and renew the face of the earth.

MAY 15 IS THE FEAST OF ST. ISIDORE THE FARMER

Feast of Saint Isidore the Farmer — patron saint of farmers, laborers, agricultural workers, and the people of Madrid.

O humble Saint Isidore, your life reminds us that holiness can be found even in the simplest and most ordinary work. Though you spent your days laboring in the fields, your heart was always lifted to God, especially through your deep love for the Holy Mass.

Teach us to value the Holy Eucharist as you did. Inspire us to seek God first before all our daily tasks and responsibilities. Help us to recognize that every honest work, when offered to the Lord with love and faith, becomes a pleasing sacrifice in His sight.

May we never grow tired of coming to Mass, where Christ becomes truly present in the Holy Eucharist — Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity — nourishing and strengthening our souls.

Guide us to offer our joys, hardships, labor, and sacrifices to God through the hands of the priest during the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. May our daily work lead us not only to earthly provision, but also to eternal blessings in heaven.

Good Saint Isidore, bless our homes, our work, our fields, and all who labor tirelessly each day. Pray that we may remain faithful to God in both prayer and work, until we share with you the reward of everlasting life.

Amen.

From the arrival of missionaries in Eastern Mindanao, the growth of parishes, schools, and apostolates, to the birth of the GKK inspired by Vatican II and affirmed during the Prelature Pastoral Planning Assembly in April 1976, we see a living history of faith carried by the People of God.

Today, the Diocese of Tagum continues its mission through 2,380 GKKs under 59 parishes, witnessing that the Church is truly the “People of God” united and guided by the Holy Spirit in response to the Father’s call. As part of Project DATOS outputs and in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the PPPA 1976–2026, we extend our heartfelt thanks.

For feedback, kindly message [email protected] or the pastoral office. Share this with your family and friends. Bugsay-padayon, Tagum!
