โQuiet! Be still!โ โ Mark 4:39 (NIV)
And just like that, the winds calmed and the waves grew still.
As students, we juggle a lot โ lectures, submissions, pressure, and now, the weight of a storm. Itโs hard to focus when the skies are dark, the streets are flooded, and your home feels less safe than usual. But even in the loudest tempests, God's voice remains louder.
This week, we are called to pause, reflect, and pray โ not only for our own peace, but for others who are experiencing the storm far worse than we are.
We pray for:
โ Students who canโt attend online classes due to no electricity, unstable internet, or flooded homes
โ Families who were forced to evacuate with nothing but the clothes they could carry
โ Children who donโt understand why they canโt sleep in their beds tonight
โ The homeless who have no roof to shield them from the rain
โ Stray animals desperately searching for shelter
โ Frontliners, rescuers, and volunteers risking their own safety to help others
โ All who are worried, weary, or quietly suffering
This is a reminder to all students: You are not alone. Even when your world feels uncertain, God is not shaken. He is still in control.
Let us carry one another in prayer. Let us check in on our classmates, share resources, and extend compassion in small but meaningful ways. Let us be still โ not in fear, but in faith.
May we return to our classes, our tasks, and our goals stronger, more grounded, and more grateful. And until then, may we remain calm in the storm, knowing Who calms it.
