On August 16, 2026, we gathered together with the youth from Tayabo and Main Church LCA for an afternoon filled with laughter, fellowship, meaningful conversations, and memories that will surely last.

More than just a gathering, it was a reminder that the bonds we build through 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵, 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 become stronger when we grow together in Christ.

Thank you to everyone who joined and shared their time, energy, and joy as we officially launched our Youth Ministry here at LCA Caridad! 🤍

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗿𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁, 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗼𝗻: 𝗟𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱

𝐓𝐨𝐩𝐢𝐜: Lost and Found (Luke 15:1–32)

𝟒. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠

𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝟒: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 (𝐋𝐮𝐤𝐞 𝟏𝟓:𝟐𝟓-𝟑𝟐)

v. 25b-30 - The verses mention the story of the Prodigal Son, where the younger son returned to his father after being away for a long time. He had already wasted all the money he received from his father. However, the older brother became angry when he knew that his father welcomed his younger brother back. The older brother felt that he had served his father like a slave, yet he believed he had never received the same kind of celebration or recognition.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲:
1. His problem he had with the celebration
2. He served his father out of self interest rather than out of love.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭:
> v29b - “So his father went out and begged him to come in” — The father begged to the older son to come inside as they will celebrate the return of the younger son.

> “I value you and our relationship together more than I value your works” - The father’s conversation to his older son that he value their relationship more than the worked he did.

v31 - “His father said to him ‘Oh, my son, you are always with me, and everything I have is yours”

The story of this parable is 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧-𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝, allowing us to reflect on its deeper meaning. It reminds us that if we come back and enter into the Father’s presence, there will always be forgiveness and love. Regardless of the circumstances, even when we experience jealousy or resentment like the older brother in the story, let us invite Jesus into our lives and allow His love and forgiveness to fill our hearts.

𝟐 𝐏𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝟑:𝟗 reminds us that the Lord does not want anyone to be lost or perish. He patiently gives us time to turn back to Him. Even when we are lost and have committed sins, He welcomes us with open arms, ready to accept and love us. His love, forgiveness, and grace are always available to those who return to Him.

As Ptr. Glenn concluded in his sermon, 𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝘂𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗚𝗼𝗱’𝘀 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘂𝘀 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲.

𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 2: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐨𝐢𝐧
Verses: 8-10 — The verses talk about the parable of the lost silver coin, and the woman searched for it diligently until she found it. And connects it to the verse 10 “Ganon din sa langit, masayang-masaya ang mga angel ng Diyos dahil sa isang makasalanang nagsisisi.”

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞:
1. It declared her status as a married woman.
2. It was used to identify sinful women.

For context:
The Coin was Lost in darkness
The Coin was Lost in mud

1. 𝐋𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬
- They may be brillant intellectually speaking, but spiritually they are blind.

2. 𝐋𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐌𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐭
- Although they were created in God’s image, that image has been damage aand they must be cleansed in order to restore Lord’s image.

𝐖𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐨𝐢𝐧, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐮𝐬 𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥 𝐇𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐮𝐬. 𝐓𝐨𝐝𝐚𝐲, 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐢𝐬 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞, 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐲.

Ephesians 2:1–5 emphasizes that we were once lost, living in sin and not according to God’s will. But because of His great love and mercy, He made us alive with Christ. Through His grace, we have been found and are now called to live according to God’s purposes.

The word “𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐭” is the same word that is translated as “𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐡” in John 3:16.

Isaiah 53:6 — We are like sheep that are lost, not knowing where to go or having no direction. But in God, there is always a destination and a direction prepared for us.

2. 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐩

Jeremiah 31:3
“The Lord says, ‘I love you people with a love that continues forever. That is why I have continued showing you kindness.’”

Romans 5:6–8 — This verse highlights that Christ died for us while we were still sinners, and through this, God showed how much He loves us.

The shepherd did not stop until his mission had been completed and the sheep had been found. Jesus did not stop in His quest until He was able to cry, “𝐈𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝.”

1 Peter 2:25 — We were once like sheep that were lost, but now we have been found. We are now in Christ, the Shepherd and Guardian of our lives.

Ptr. Glenn shared the fifth and final point: "𝗧𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝗼𝗱 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱."

Whatever season you find yourself in today—whether waiting, suffering, rejoicing, or rebuilding—remember that God is at work. He is with you, He is faithful, and He will carry you through every season. Keep trusting Him, because His purposes are always good, and His rewards come in His perfect time.🙌

Isaiah 43:2 – It reminds us that the Lord is with us through every season of life, especially during trials and hardships. It assures us that we are never meant to face our problems alone because God is always with us, protecting and strengthening us in difficult times.

2 Corinthians 12:9 – Paul humbly acknowledged that in his weakness, he experienced the Lord’s power more fully. Reminded us that God’s grace is sufficient, and His strength is made perfect in our weakness.

Psalm 119:103 – “𝖸𝗈𝗎𝗋 𝗐𝗈𝗋𝖽𝗌 𝖺𝗋𝖾 𝗌𝗈 𝗌𝗐𝖾𝖾𝗍 𝗍𝗈 𝗆𝖾, 𝗌𝗐𝖾𝖾𝗍𝖾𝗋 𝗍𝗁𝖺𝗇 𝗁𝗈𝗇𝖾𝗒 𝗍𝗈 𝗆𝗒 𝗆𝗈𝗎𝗍𝗁.” God’s Word is sweeter than honey because it gives us wisdom, guidance, and light for our path. His Word is our anchor in every season of life.

Psalm 22:3 – In times of trials and difficulties, praising God invites His presence into our lives. Worship draws us closer to Him and reminds us that He is worthy of our praise regardless of our circumstances.

Acts 16:25–26 – These verses demonstrate the power of worship. Even while Paul and Silas were imprisoned, they prayed and praised God, and the Lord responded with His power, showing that worship can bring hope, freedom, and breakthroughs even in the darkest situations.

𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲, 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐆𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭: 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐥𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐬.

𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞: 𝐄𝐜𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 3:1

𝐏𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 3: 𝐆𝐨𝐝’𝐬 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭

- Habakkuk 2:3 — The Lord’s perfect timing will come. He assures us that we need to wait patiently because His promise will surely come to pass in His perfect time.

- It reminds us that God’s promises may not be fulfilled immediately, but they will come to pass in His perfect timing.

- God’s clock is never too late. The Lord is never in a hurry, nor is He ever late. His timing is always according to the right season and the right purpose.

- 1 Samuel 13:8–14 — The lesson from these verses is to wait for God’s perfect timing. Impatience often leads to wrong decisions and mistakes.

- God is aware of when a breakthrough will happen.

- Ecclesiates 3:11 — He has made everything beautiful in its time.

- We have to follow God’s timing (Psalms 27:14)

- Genesis 21:1–2 — The story of Abraham and Sarah reminds us that they trusted the Lord, and His promise came true. They received Isaac, their son, as the Lord fulfilled His plan and promise to give them a child.

Hebrews 11:1 — Because of our faith, we hope; through faith we believe that something is real even we cannot see it.

Hebrews 10:32–34 — These verses state the problems that the believers conquered. Despite all the struggles they faced, they remained faithful, knowing that they would receive blessings from above.

Faith is able to see beyond feelings.

Waiting seasons are not wasted seasons.

Isaiah 40:31 — Through our faith, whether we are facing trials or waiting for the answers to our prayers, we trust in God’s process. No matter how long it takes, our faith is strengthened as we continue to pray, believing that in His time, we will receive His answer.

Proverbs 3:5–6 — Trust in Him and do not lean on your own understanding, because He will make your path straight in the future ahead

Job 13:15 — Job continued to trust God even though he faced the greatest difficulties in his life. He remained faithful and continued to trust God, even if He were to kill him.
