Paul so lived before the Philippian believers and before all men as to be an example of godliness. But there were others all around and even most likely whom the Philippians knew of, who walked not so. Paul encourages them to follow his good example of following Jesus and to avoid the influence of all bad examples.

O God, your Son Jesus Christ left us an example that we might follow "in his steps. " That is the perfect example. But you have also given us lesser but stil true examples of godliness in our brothers and sisters in Christ. Help us to follow the good wherever we find it.

The covenant between us and God is a sacred one, and one wherein we should forever feel free to talk to the Almighty Lord about anything and everything. This might seem redundant, seeing as the Lord already knows all that resides in your heart. Yet, this is wrongheaded. Great prayers are like superb conversations. Just as one wouldn't expect an interesting conversation to be formulaic, but instead spontaneous and dynamic, so too one explores and finds out what one understands of something by 'thinking through your mouth'. Prayer is not simply a stale routine, but rather a dialogue, a game of improvisation and exploration with God, who loves to listen.

Almighty Father I thank you for hearing my prayers, for listening to Your humble servant Lord, who wishes to understand better all things divine and true. Help me accomplish this as my spirit communes with You in praise and continued prayer. In Jesus name. Amen.

Jesus is the Lord's truth made flesh for all of mankind. This flesh, consecrated on the cross, should not be mistaken as being weak. For upon Christ's resurrection was it made true and everlasting. His flesh has endured throughout the ages for each and every Christian. Acceptance of it ensures our protection as one of God's children.

In the name of Jesus of Nazareth and all that is holy, I lift my head to thee Lord, in thanks, praise and glory. Your word is my truth and my shield, protecting me from all that is unholy. Grant me thus, a place within your Heavenly Kingdom, as I accept you into my heart and soul. For your word is my truth and my shield, defending me with light against all that is infernal.

And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them. Luke 2:16-20

Mary took on faith what she had herself experienced and heard, but had yet not come to fully accept or understand. It may be hard for us too, in the face of God's majesty and power, to simply accept these miracles and pass on through the Testament. However, take Mary as an example, who was entrusted with perhaps accepting the greatest miracle of all, we should take all these things and ponder on them within our hearts, until their innate truth is revealed, until their prophecies are fulfilled before our very eyes.

Lord God above, thy Kingdom come and thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Teach us to follow in your grace, and trust in your miracles.Even though our life is finite and our understanding is limited, I still seek your light and drink from the fountains of your truth. In your works I place my faith, blind as I am to your designs. Lift the veil from my eyes Lord, and allow me to see the beauty of your word that has been manifested in the flesh of all things.

Exalted above all else, is God's ultimate power. No one or no thing is above this. In this way at least, in front of God's dominion, all things were created equal.

Lord God Almighty, thank you for giving us the kinship of faith, to share and bask in Your eternal glory. Grant me the strength and will to maintain my faith while serving You, especially in times of darkness and difficulty. Further, grant me strength in the Holy Fellowship, the church, and Your followers. For we are Your children, and You are our loving father, who has pulled us out from darkness and shown us the light. In Jesus name. Amen.

Simple, beautiful, and poignant. We owe nothing to others except love. Do that, and God's law is fulfilled. I only wish I could say that I always did it, but we all must try.

I love You, caring and gentle God, more than these words can ever suffice to say. I love Your son, Jesus Christ, with all of my heart and strength, which is not an iota of the power with which He loved me. I love the Holy Spirit, sustaining my faith, protecting me, nourishing my soul. Thank you, majestic Lord, for loving me so dearly. I pray today that I will fulfill Your law to love others as You have taught me. In Jesus name. Amen.

Can you think of the last time that you sinned? Sometimes it is hard to remember, but I imagine that some moment of weakness will come into your mind. What did you do after sinning? More importantly, what could you have done differently? James explains what should be done and what you hopefully do: confess your sins and pray for each other. I feel a tremendous sense of relief after I confess to wrongdoing. Bottling it in never allows for the release of negative energy and emotions. Let it out, ask for forgiveness, and pray for each other.

Forgive me Father for I have sinned. I have been gluttonous, lustful, greedy, proud, filled with sorrow, wrathful, vain, and slothful. I have condemned others without even examining myself. I have not always loved my enemies nor loved my neighbors as myself. I can do better and must do better. Forgive me, O Lord, and make me whole! I pray that You strengthen me this day and all days, serving as my refuge against temptation. Deliver me from evil, for thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. In Jesus name. The Psalms are filled with references to God being our rock and refuge. King David was not the most innocent person in the Bible: he committed adultery, was certainly guilty of envy and lust, and more or less guilty of murder. David certainly understood one thing: God was his refuge and the only path to salvation. He begged for forgiveness numerous times, realizing his sins, begging for atonement, and having faith in the Lord, his rock and refuge.

Hallowed and holy Lord, I must release the darkness from my heart. I beg that You forgive me of the sins that I have committed, and thank You for always being there for me: my rock, refuge, and redeemer. Give me the faith to know that You will never forsake me. You are my helper, Lord. I will not be afraid. With this knowledge, what can man do to me? I long for the day I join You and Your son in heaven, almighty God. In Jesus name. Amen.

God has shown us the path towards righteous living. He has kept his promises to us: have we always kept our promises to him? The world is moving in many directions, but there is only one way that God wishes it: to love the Lord with all your heart and all your strength, your neighbors as yourself, and even your enemies. The rest is up to Him.

My Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. You are the one and only God, and I wish to fulfill Your commandments. Forgive me for my times of weakness and sin, and I pray that You embolden a newfound passion to love and be loved by You in me. I trust You completely, mighty God, for You have never strayed from Your path. In the name of Your son, Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.

This verse reminds me of when God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son to prove that Abraham was faithful to Him. God sent his only begotten son to die for us, a shepherd dying to protect his flock of sheep. Through his death and rebirth, we are able to live and understand why he lived and died for us. I must admit that I selfishly think about myself a tremendous amount, often neglecting to think of the ultimate sacrifice that Christ made for you and me. I want to honor his sacrifice and this verse reminds me to do so more than any other.

O my benevolent and caring Lord, how can I repay thee? Your kingdom has come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Incite a passion in me to spread Your holy word. I pray that I can do my part to aid others in finding and loving You. Jesus gave Himself for us, and I pray, loving God, that You assist me in giving myself to You. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

Love did not begin with man. It is not a worldly human creation. It is a divine creation. Love came from God to us, not the other way around. This loving action gave us the opportunity to reciprocate this action to God and to others. In 1 John 4:9, John explains that Jesus was sent to us as an act of love, to show us the meaning. Live according to God's love and we do not need to fear judgment, living and loving freely and truthfully.

Faithful and righteous God, forgive me for not always living according to your edicts. I know that you sent your son to earth as an act of love, one that I can never repay, but I ask that you help me honor this act of love through my own loving actions. I am inspired to be more like Jesus and more like you, heavenly Father, to honor the love you have for me. I pray this in your holy name. in Jesus name. Amen.
