In memoriam Arturo Q Trinidad

The UE community mourns the passing last Monday, December 1, 2014, of Dr. Arturo Q. Trinidad, UE's President from July 16, 1991 to October 17, 1992. He was 82 years old.

Dr. Trinidad was the fifth full-time President of UE. He had replaced then UE Chairman of the Board and concurrent President Panfilo O. Domingo for the University's presidency so that Chairman Domingo could focus on UE's corporate matters while President Trinidad managed the University's academic affairs.

As reported in a 1991 issue of the Dawn, Dr. Trinidad had earned his undergraduate degree from the Mapua Institute of Technology and his master's degree in Statistics and Business Administration from the University of the Philippines, and had been a Management major of Stanford University. He had landed in 4th Place in the 1955 licensure examination for civil engineers.

Before being appointed UE President, Dr. Trinidad was Executive Vice President of Philippine National Bank, during the PNB presidency of eventual UE Chairman P. O. Domingo.

Dr. Trinidad's remains lie in state at the St. Luke Chapel of the Loyola Memorial Chapels & Crematorium on Bernardino Street (near EDSA), Guadalupe, Makati City. Cremation will be done tomorrow, December 4, at 4 p.m.

Our condolences and sympathies to former UE President Trinidad's family and friends. Prayers for his eternal repose will be highly appreciated. Thank you.

SCRIPTURE
✝ Psalms 80:7
"Turn us again, God of Hosts. Cause your face to shine, and we will be saved."
THOUGHTS
This part of the Bible makes me want to scream at God: "God, please fix us up! God, bring back the sense of wonder to your people, who have lost it. Bring back the innocence of our old, hardened hearts. Bring our lives back to their original perfection and purpose. Bring us back to you, God Almighty!" Even though not every Christian has lost their sense of wonder and not everyone has a hard, old heart, we all need God to shine on us and renew us!
PRAYER
Sometimes I feel so old and worn out; my soul is worn out from the battle, O God, the creator of new things. Your presence and fortitude are what I need to recover. Please put me back on your team and awaken your grace within me. Please bring me back into your love so that I can spread it to others. Please make me righteous again so that people can see your character in me. In order for the world to recognize you in us and discover your atoning grace, kindly restore me, and don't stop there, kindly restore everyone who calls on your mighty name. In Jesus's precious name I pray. Amen.
