"And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age." (Matthew 28:20)

In today’s Gospel for the Solemnity of the Ascension, Jesus delivers His final, powerful instructions to His disciples before ascending into heaven. While His physical presence on earth comes to an end, He does not leave us to navigate the world on our own.

Instead, He leaves us with the ultimate assurance of His eternal presence. To hear that He is with us "until the end of the age" is a reminder that no matter how challenging our journey becomes, we are never walking it alone. He has commissioned us to share His light, and He stands beside us as we do.

The main message today centers on the Great Commission: "Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations." This is a call to action rooted in deep faith and love. Jesus trusts us to be the stewards of His teachings, spreading His message of hope, mercy, and salvation to every corner of the world. It is a reminder that our faith is meant to be lived actively and shared generously, transforming our hearts so that we can, in turn, help transform the lives of others through our words and actions.

"I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you." (John 14:18)

In today’s Gospel for the Sixth Sunday of Easter, Jesus prepares His disciples for the time when He will no longer be with them physically. Knowing they might feel afraid or alone, He promises to send the Holy Spirit the Spirit of Truth to be our helper. He reassures us that we are never truly alone. To be an "orphan" is to feel lost or unprotected, but Jesus fills the void by promising to stay with us always, guiding our hearts and our lives every single day.

The main message today is that loving Jesus means following His way: "If you love me, you will keep my commandments." This isn't about following strict rules, but about letting His love naturally change how we act. Since today is also Mother’s Day, we see this same kind of love in a mother’s care. Just as a mother protects and stays by her child's side, Jesus promises that God will never abandon us, keeping us close as His beloved children.

As lectors and commentators, our mission is to be the voice of this truth. When we proclaim the Word, we help heal the loneliness that many people feel. By living with love, we help others "see" the Risen Christ in the world today. Let us open our hearts to the Holy Spirit so that we always feel God’s presence and share His hope and comfort with everyone we meet.

"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)

In today’s Gospel for the Fifth Sunday of Easter, Jesus offers us a profound assurance in the midst of our uncertainty. He does not merely point us toward a map or a set of rules; He presents Himself as the very path we are to walk, the truth we are to believe, and the life we are to live.

This passage reminds us of the intimate invitation we have received from the Risen Lord. To follow Him is to find clarity when the world feels chaotic and to find a home in the "many dwelling places" of the Father’s house. In the midst of life’s "crossroads" the confusion, the searching, and the fear of the unknown, Jesus stands as the bridge, offering us a direction and a purpose that only He can provide. His claim is not one of exclusion, but of a total, loving devotion to leading us back to the heart of God.

As we continue our Easter journey, let us strive to align our hearts with the Way of Christ. May we find courage in His words, "Do not let your hearts be troubled," and trust that by staying close to Him, we are already walking toward our eternal home.

Let us pray for the grace to recognize Him as our guide and to reflect His Truth and His Life in every interaction we have with one another.

"I am the good shepherd. A good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep." (John 10:11)

In today’s Gospel for the Fourth Monday of Easter, Jesus presents Himself as the Good Shepherd—the one who does not flee when danger nears, but stays to shield His flock. Unlike a hired hand who works for wages, Christ is driven by a sacrificial love that leads Him to lay down His life for our sake.

This passage reminds us of the intimate bond we share with the Risen Lord. To be part of His flock is to be known by name and loved without reserve. In the midst of life's "wolves" the fear, doubt, and uncertainty, the Good Shepherd stands in the breach, offering us a security that the world cannot provide. His sacrifice is not a sign of defeat, but the ultimate proof of His devotion to our salvation.

As we continue our Easter journey, let us strive to recognize the Shepherd’s voice amidst the noise of our daily lives. May we find comfort in His guidance and trust that He is always leading us toward the fullness of life.

Let us pray for the grace to follow Him faithfully and to reflect His selfless care in how we look after one another.

"Were not our hearts burning within us while he spoke to us on the way and opened the scriptures to us?" (Luke 24:32)

In today’s Gospel for the Third Sunday of Easter, we journey alongside two disciples on the road to Emmaus. In their grief and confusion following the crucifixion, they are joined by a "stranger" who explains the necessity of Christ's suffering through the lens of the Scriptures. It is only in the breaking of the bread that their eyes are opened, and they recognize that the companion on their journey was the Risen Lord all along.

This encounter reveals a profound truth: Christ often walks with us in the midst of our disappointments and "downcast" moments. Even when we fail to recognize Him, He is actively "opening the scriptures" to us, transforming our despair into hope. The "burning hearts" the disciples felt were not merely emotions, but the fire of the Holy Spirit igniting a new understanding of God’s plan where sacrifice leads to glory and death leads to life.

The Road to Emmaus is a beautiful reflection of our own spiritual life and the Mass itself. We gather, we listen to the Word that makes our hearts burn, and we recognize Him truly in the Eucharist. Like the disciples who immediately hurried back to Jerusalem to share the news, our encounter with the Risen Christ compels us to move. We cannot keep this fire to ourselves; we are called to be witnesses of the Resurrection to those still walking in shadows.

As we celebrate this Third Sunday of Easter, let us ask ourselves: When have we felt that "burning" in our hearts? Are we attentive to the stranger on our path? May we have the grace to invite Him in, saying, "Stay with us, Lord," and may our eyes be opened to see His presence in the breaking of the bread and in one another.

Let us pray for a renewed hunger for the Word of God and a deeper love for the Holy Eucharist. May the fire of His love consume our fears and send us forth as joyful heralds of the Risen King.
