At an unprecedented hour, the Peñafrancia de Mayo 2026 Fluvial Procession began earlier than scheduled, yet the river of faith overflowed with devotion as countless pilgrims accompanied the revered images of Inâ, Our Lady of Peñafrancia, and the Divino Rostro on their journey home to the Basilica. Beneath the heat of the afternoon sun, women representing different sectors prayerfully rode the pagoda while devoted voyadores guided it through the waters of the Bicol River with strength, sacrifice, and love for Inâ. The celebration concluded with the solemn Pontifical Mass at the Our Lady of Peñafrancia Minor Basilica and National Shrine led by His Grace, Most Rev. Rex Andrew C. Alarcon, D.D., Archbishop of Caceres, coinciding with the forty-fourth anniversary of the Dedication of the Church of the Basilica.

More than a yearly tradition, the fluvial procession remains a beautiful testimony of the enduring Marian faith of the Bikolano people. In this joyful celebration, the Church of Caceres continues to live out its Diamond Jubilee theme, “Gabos kaayon, gabos may gibuhon,” as devotees from all walks of life came together in prayer and various service. Guided by this year’s Peñafrancia theme, “Inâ: Nurturing a Growing Church” the faithful are once more reminded that our Mahal na Inâ continues to accompany her children closer to Christ, strengthening the Church through oneness in faith, devotion, and hope.
