According to tradition, in the 4th century, under the pontificate of Pope Liberius, a noble couple, having no children, decided to donate for the construction of a Church dedicated to Mary. Our Lady appeared to them in a dream and pointed the location where to build the Church. They told the pope who also had the same dream. They went to the place indicated and found it covered with snow, in the height of summer

Today, as we celebrate the Feast of Saint John Vianney—the patron saint of parish priests, we also honor Priest’s Day!

We take this special moment to express our deepest gratitude to our shepherds of the Divine Mercy Vicariate, for answering the call to serve. Thank you for your tireless dedication, your comforting presence in our times of need, and for leading us closer to Christ through the sacraments.

𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐠𝐚𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐡

St. James, son of Zebedee and brother of John, is called "Great“ or “Elder” to distinguish him from the other apostle James. He belonged to the inner circle of Jesus’ apostles who exclusively witnessed three events - the raising of Jairus’ daughter, the transfiguration, and the agony in the garden. Tradition says that he preached the Gospel in Spain. He was the first apostle to be martyred and the only one whose martyrdom is in the Bible.

The Vicariate Youth Coordinating Council humbly ask for your prayers and support for our fellow youth leader, Reneboy Roxas, the current Youth Coordinator of Laguindingan, who is currently confined at Polymedic Medical Center due to an enlarged heart.
