Elevate UM joyfully conducted its General Assembly last October 1, 2026, at AVR 2, GET Building, Matina Campus, where the officers were recognized and the organization's annual operational plan was presented.

During the event, Kuya Earl reminded us that "serving the Lord will always be a heart check." This ministry belongs to Jesusโ€”it is never about ourselvesโ€”and our service should be modeled after Him.

Doing campus ministry at UM is hard, it stretches one's faith and patience. But that is exactly what Jesus teaches us in Matthew 20:25-28:

Jesus came to serve, not to be served.

Indeed, we will never know how to serve the right way unless we understand how Jesus served us.

May we have that same heart as we do campus work at the University of Mindanao.

Ever heard of a city so immoral that its name literally became a synonym for sexual immorality and debauchery? ๐Ÿ™€

The city of Corinth was a trade center in the Roman world and its people indulged in sexual sin to the point that โ€œcorinthianizeโ€ became a term for this. However, this did not stop Paul from preaching the gospel in Corinth during his second missionary journey. The most serious problem of the church of Corinth was that some believers could not separate themselves from their selfish, immoral, and pagan ways.

In Chapter 15, Paul emphasizes that if Christ did not rise from the dead, then might as well do whatever we want and continue with our sinful lifestyle. If Christ did not rise from the dead, then Christians are liars and the most miserable people on the planet. Yet Christ did rise from the dead! To willfully deny this truth is sin. Paul tells the believer to be steadfast, immovable, always abounding the work of the Lord because the Lord already won.
