The Servants of the Lord’s Vineyard Catholic Community (SOLV) was established in December 1984 at De La Salle University as a student organization affiliated with the nationwide Christ’s Youth in Action (CYA). By the mid-1990s, the professional sector, SOLV Makati, was established (composed mainly of young professionals). This was followed by the Couples, Kids, and Handmaids sectors. Eventually, some members went on to head other communities in the Philippines and overseas while a few entered the religious life. Regular weekly prayer meetings are currently held at the St. Today, SOLV continues to evangelize through activities and events to spread the Word of God to as many people as possible and to encourage them to live holier lives. SOLV is currently under the pastoral care of Fr. Hans Magdurulang, who serves as its spiritual director. SOLV is duly registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as “The Philippine Foundation of Servants of the Lord’s Vineyard, Inc.” with SEC number A1997-6866.

Two Tennis Players with Devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary

Carlos Alcaraz, one of the top players in the world, has openly shown his Catholic faith and love for the Blessed Virgin Mary. While traveling, he visited the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, where he prayed and respectfully asked a priest for a blessing. This moment shows his trust in God and his devotion to Our Lady, even while competing at the highest level of professional tennis.

Alex Eala, a young tennis player from the Philippines who is making history on the world stage, is also known for her strong Catholic faith. Before her matches, she prays the Hail Mary and entrusts her games to God. Her quiet devotion to Mama Mary shows that prayer remains central to her life, whether she is winning or facing challenges.

Together, these athletes show that success in sports and devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary can exist side by side. Their lives reflect faith lived with humility, trust in God, and love for Our Lady. 🙏

"Between the burnout, the dating fatigue, and the constant pressure to be on, Gen Z’s new version of luxury looks more like spiritual retreat than poolside party." 💕

In an unexpected pivot from rooftop parties and dating app exhaustion, young women are opting for peace and quiet. Literal quiet.

“I booked a vow of silence at a Catholic monastery late last year, and the booking process is really straightforward—you just email the nuns,” said TikToker in a video that’s now been viewed over 700,000 times. “When I went to book again for this summer, they were fully booked for the next three months.”

Monasteries and convents are now seeing waitlists as young women line up for a kind of stillness that’s hard to come by elsewhere. No phones buzzing, no endless notifications, and definitely no small talk. Instead, many are spending their days tending gardens, attending prayer services, and catching up with themselves.
