More than just a gathering, the Salesian Youth Movement (SYM) successfully conducted its Zone Visitation at GKK San Miguel Archangel on August 1, 2026, for the fellow faithful youth of Zone 3, calling them to a deeper relationship with God and a more active participation in the mission of the Church.

The activity, which ran from 8 AM to 4 PM, brought together youth leaders and members for a comprehensive program designed to assess the well-being of local chapters, foster collaboration, and deepen the spiritual foundation of the youth in the parish.

Led by team leader Nicolle Morera Limboy, the SYM team included Marianne Loise Cabreros Marpa, Neil Mark Tonares, Raulito Tapdasan, Kym Tutor, and Kryztiene Victoria Toong, each representing different sodalities within the movement.

The program commenced with registration and an opening prayer, followed by opening remarks and an energizer to set an energized tone for the day. The morning session featured plenary inputs delivered by Nicolle and Marianne, covering key topics aimed at inspiring and equipping the young participants.

One highlight of the event was the Words of Wisdom shared by Raulito Tapdasan and Neil Mark Tonares, offering encouragement and guidance to the youth in their faith journey. This was followed by a lunch break and an afternoon energizer to sustain the participants' energy.

The afternoon session featured an introduction to the various sodalities under SYM, including KOA, BIBLOS, JUVENTUS, LOA, and FOCAM, presented by the respective leaders. Listing of Aspiring members was followed afterwards. The activity was further enlivened by parlor games such as Bring Me, Trip to Jerusalem, Doctor Help, The Counting Game, Action Relay, and Hep Hep Horay, fostering camaraderie and teamwork among the participants.

The day culminated in a Holy Mass, with readers Devyn Ligad and Dona Avila, music ministry provided by FOCAM, and ushering duties handled by youth participants.

The committees for the event were composed of Nicolle for Education, Marianne for Secretariate, Neil Mark for Technical, Raul for Service, and Kym and Victoria for SocCom, ensuring the smooth flow of activities throughout the day.

Through plenary sessions, words of wisdom, sodality introductions, and a culminating Holy Mass, participants were guided to reflect on their faith and recognize their unique roles as stewards of God's grace in their communities. The visitation reaffirmed the SYM's mission of accompanying the youth in their spiritual formation, ensuring that they remain grounded in their faith while boldly embracing their calling to serve.

As the SYM continues its mission of fostering a vibrant and engaged youth community, this gathering stands as a testament to the power of unity, faith, and servant leadership among the young members of the Church.

The Salesian Youth Movement of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish continued its Zone 1 Visitation with Team 1 at St. Francis of Assisi, GKK NHA, bringing with them a day filled with fellowship, formation, fun, and an invitation to deepen one's journey of faith through the different Salesian Sodalities.

The gathering began with an energizing activity led by James Douglas Amodia, setting the atmosphere for a joyful and engaging encounter. This was followed by the opening remarks of the Zone 1 Coordinator, Engr. Luige Alan Cabili, who welcomed the young people and encouraged them to actively participate in the life and mission of the Salesian Youth Movement. An input on โ€œRenew: Serve and Shineโ€ was then shared by the Team 1 Facilitators โ€” Jeff Labrador, James Douglas Amodia, Maynel Manlangit, and Fritz Ampilanon, offering the youth a moment of reflection and inspiration as they continue to grow in their faith and commitment to service.

The highlight of the visitation was the introduction of the five Salesian Sodalities: LOA, KOA, FOCAM, BIBLOS, and JUVENTUS.

Each sodality was presented as a unique community where young people can discover their gifts, strengthen their relationship with God, build meaningful friendships, and live out their faith through service. More than simply organizations, these sodalities provide different pathways for the youth to find their place within the Salesian community and actively participate in its mission.

The day continued with recreational games and awarding, along with the giving of religious items and prizes, creating moments of laughter, camaraderie, and joyful fellowship. As the day came to a close, everyone gathered in prayer through the Holy Rosary, entrusting the young people, their families, and the continuing mission of the Salesian Youth Movement to the maternal care of Mary, Help of Christians.

From learning about the different paths of the Salesian youth to sharing in joy and prayer, Zone 1 Visitation was a reminder that there is a place for every young person to belong, believe, serve, and shine.

Which Salesian Sodality will be your journey?

Attending the Caravario Encounter was a truly meaningful experience deepened my faith and challenged me to reflect on the person God is calling me to become. Guided by the theme โ€œ To belong, To believe, To become.โ€ I realized that my journey as a catholic is not only about being part of a community or believing in God, but also about allowing him to transform my life. Being surrounded by my EAO friends and the Salesian family made the encounter even more special, as we encouraged one another to grow in faith and service. Inspired by the teachings of St. John Bosco, I was reminded that holiness begins with loving God, serving others with joy, and living each day with purpose.

Among the three themes, "To Become" touched me the most. The message, "To become means awakening one person to discover who they are in Christ," reminded me that becoming is not simply about personal success or self-improvement. It is about allowing God to shape me into the person He created me to be. The life of St. Callistus Caravario inspired me because he remained faithful to Christ even in the face of suffering and ultimately gave his life for his faith. His courage and unwavering trust in God challenged me to ask myself if I am also willing to remain faithful, even when following Christ becomes difficult.

As I leave the Caravario Encounter, I carry with me a renewed commitment to become more like Christ in my thoughts, words, and actions. I know that I am still growing and that I will continue to face struggles, but I trust that God will continue to guide me. Following the example of St. John Bosco and St. Callistus Caravario, I hope to live a life of faith, humility, courage, and joyful service. This encounter reminded me that becoming is not about reaching perfection but about allowing God to transform my heart every day so that I may reflect His love to others.

The Caravario Encounter really opened my eyes to how God works in our lives. There are times when we feel alone or unsure of ourselves, but God always finds a way to send the right people into our journey to believe in us so we can grow. The words "Do whatever he tells you" serve as a gentle reminder to trust His plan, knowing that He sees both our strengths and our struggles and only wants to lift us up.

Being part of the Salesian Youth Movement and connecting with everyone from across East Asia Oceania was such an unforgettable experience. Meeting the priests and lay brothers, who were all so jolly, approachable, and welcoming, made it feel like home right away. Hearing the stories, experiencing different cultures, and learning about the real situations of the youth in other provinces reminded me of how beautiful our shared faith truly is. Through prayer, the sacraments, and simple everyday kindness, we can build spaces where every young person feels loved, welcomed, and seen.

At the end of the day, to believe is to encourage. It begins when we start believing in ourselves and then pass that same trust on to our fellow youth so we can grow together as one family. When we choose to be someone others can lean on, we become instruments of God's love, helping each other become good Christians and honest citizens. Iโ€™m leaving this encounter with a full heart, ready to walk this path together with all of you.

The Caravario Encounter reminded me that true belonging is not about where we come from, but about walking together in faith. Meeting fellow Salesians from different countries across East Asia Oceania made me realize that although we have different cultures and languages, we are one family in Christ.

The messages shared during the encounter deeply inspired me. I learned that no one starts the journey alone, that every journey needs a Guide, and that faith is not having all the answers, but trusting God every step of the way. These reflections encouraged me to follow God's will and continue walking with courage and hope.

As I end this journey, I carry with me the challenge to become an influencer not for likes, but for life. I want my faith to be seen through my actions, so that my own journey may help others find their way to God. This experience strengthened my sense of belonging and reminded me that I am part of a mission greater than myself.
