As leaders, where does our attention automatically go?

Fr David McCallum SJ is currently facilitating a group activity with our DLAP participants where they are asked to reflect on the inner and outer dimensions of being a leader and which dimensions they tend to prioritize. Our participants openly shared some of their personal preferences and shared where these preferences come from!

And the conference has begun!

Thirty-seven participants from 13 countries across Asia and beyond have gathered at Seven Fountains Centre of Jesuit Spirituality: 15 women and 22 men.

India leads with 13, followed by the Philippines (5), Myanmar (4) and Thailand (3), with participants also from Taiwan, Vietnam, Indonesia, South Korea, Japan, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Australia and Kiribati.

The room is also packed with leadership experience: 9 Provincials, 9 Provincial Councillors and 3 Diocesan Vicars, alongside parish priests, school leaders, and local superiors.
Our diversity is just as striking: 13 sisters, 11 priests, 10 brothers and 2 lay participants, representing dioceses and religious congregations across the region.

37 people. 13 countries. 7 Fountains. One shared mission.

At the opening Mass for the feast of St Matthew, Fr David McCallum, SJ, Executive Director of the Discerning Leadership Program in Rome, invited the participants to read the Gospel this week through the lens of leadership—and to ask what it means to be called, transformed, and sent.
