In Mission. Statement of Faith
Section 1 The Holy Bible, consisting of sixty six books, in the inspired record of God’s revelation of Himself to man. It is man’s authoritative and sufficient guide in all matters of religious faith and practice. Section 2 There is only one true and living God who revealed Himself to
us as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of His nature, essence of being. Section 3 Jesus Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. As such, He was both completely human and divine in nature. He was tempted while in the flesh, but was without sin in nature and conduct. In His death on the cross, He made provision for the redemption of men from sin and death. He was raised from the dead and ascended into heaven where He is now the mediator for all who trust Him in saving faith. Section 4 The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. He convicts men of sin, righteousness and of judgment and effects generation on the believer. He enables men to understand Divine truth. He guides, Sanctifies, and Comforts believers. Section 5 Man was created by God in His own image. Given the freedom of choice, man disobeyed God and brought sin into the human race. Because of His sinful nature and environment, all men have sinned and are in need of salvation. Section 6 Salvation is offered by the Grace of God to all who through faith accept Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. In His substitutionary death, Christ provided eternal redemption for all who, in repentance of sin, come to Him in faith. Section 7 The Church is founded and built by Jesus Christ. It is the body of all believers in Christ in all places and ages. The New Testament speaks of it as His Body. A New Testament church is a local body of baptized believers bound together by the Holy Spirit for worship observing the two ordinances of the church, committed to Christian fellowship, and seeking to extend the gospel throughout the world. The Church is self governing, spiritually democratic whose members are equal in rank and privilege under the headship and authority of Christ. The scriptural officers of the church are pastor’s and deacons. The two ordinances of the church are believers’ baptism and the Lord Supper, both are symbolic expressions of the message of Salvation. Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water symbolizing his death to sin and new life in Christ. The Lord supper memorializes the death of Jesus Christ, burial, resurrection and His imminent promise to return. Section 8 Jesus Christ will come again in Glory and power to judge and to reign forever. There will be a resurrection of the righteousness and the wicked. The unrighteous will be consigned to Hell, the place of everlasting punishment. The righteous in their resurrected and glorified bodies will receive their reward and will dwell forever in Heaven with the Lord. GOALS and OBJECTIVES
