Established by the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Manila, this ministry aims to walk with Persons in Street-Dwelling Situations (PSDS) in their journey away from street life and toward the building of empowered and self-sufficient communities.

The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Manila’s MWP (Ministry with PSDS – Persons in Street-Dwelling Situations) is appealing for support for our brothers and sisters in street-dwelling situations who are currently housed in our partner institutions and safe spaces.

As the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) intensifies Tropical Depression NENENG, with two other tropical cyclones being monitored both within and outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the situation remains a concern for our vulnerable communities.

During this time, our priority is to help ensure that the PSDS already sheltered by our partner institutions have access to food, basic necessities, and essential care as they remain safe from the effects of the weather.

We are preferably accepting the following donations:

☕ Coffee and Milk
🍞 Bread
💊 OTC Medicines – for colds, cough, and fever
💰 Monetary Donations

Your generosity can help provide comfort, nourishment, and protection to our brothers and sisters who are already under the care of our partner institutions.

𝐌𝐖𝐏 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐀𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐏𝐎𝐍𝐒𝐄 | 81 𝐏𝐒𝐃𝐒 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐂𝐔𝐄𝐃

When rain poured hard these past few weeks, our partner - the 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 opened their doors to 30 PSDS in need of a safe shelter, giving them food and a dry place to rest.

As heavier rain and flooding continue to threaten the safety of our PSDS, two more institutions have answered the call - 𝗔𝗱𝗮𝗺𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 and 𝗟𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 - 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗹𝗮. We thank these institutions for opening their facilities and for providing the necessities of our beloved PSDS. We also thank the 𝗦𝘁𝗮. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗚𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗵 for providing the transportation during our rescue operations. Truly, synodality is alive when institutions choose compassion over convenience.

To highlight, the whole disaster response operations are currently spearheaded by the PSDS themselves along with our Youth Advocates. Many of them stepped up to look out for one another in this time of need. This is bayanihan in its truest form, where PSDS help themselves and become one community that ensures no one is left behind.

𝐑𝐎𝐋𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐊𝐈𝐓𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐍 | Another month of love and service with our beloved Persons in Street-Dwelling Situations (PSDS). As they journey alongside one another, they continue to offer provisions, care, and heartfelt solidarity with their fellow PSDS.

What makes this month extra special is the profound and genuine love shown by our esteemed partner, the 𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆. Beyond providing a safe space for our PSDS brothers and sisters to build a community, they also offer a nurturing environment for them to grow, understand themselves better, and most importantly draw closer to God through daily morning formation and reflection sessions. They nourish not only their bodies and hearts, but their souls as well. They serve as a constant reminder that God’s love is not only found in grand gestures, but even more so in small, everyday acts of service and compassion.

This month was made even more special by the presence of our loving and dedicated Youth Advocates from 𝗣𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗴 𝗟𝘂𝗻𝗴𝘀𝗼𝗱 𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗮𝘆𝗻𝗶𝗹𝗮. To Aubrey, Russel, and Avril, we are deeply grateful for your dedicated service to our beloved PSDS. We hope to inspire more youth advocates to journey with us in the future!

𝗠𝗪𝗣 𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗛𝗟𝗬 𝗕𝗨𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗡 | Stay informed with the latest updates in our July 2026 Bulletin!

This issue highlights the Ministry's engagements this month, including its participation in the Makati Vicariate Meeting of Saints Peter and Paul, where it shared the mission and advocacy for Persons in Street-Dwelling Situations (PSDS) with parish communities. It also celebrates the inspiring success story of "Nica", one of our PSDS who successfully completed her TB Directly Observed Treatment (TDOTs), reflecting the impact of sustained care, support, and accompaniment. Also highlighted is the second session of Sama-Aralan, "Batas, Batas, Para Kanino Ka Ginawa?", which provided PSDS participants with a deeper understanding of their rights, relevant social welfare laws, and the realities they face.

Sometimes, the best way to understand someone's story is simply by being present.

Our Youth Advocates recently spent time with our brothers and sisters in street situations through a meaningful Pakikipamuhay. It was more than just an activity; it was an opportunity to share meals, conversations, laughter, and quiet moments together. As they listened to different life stories and glimpsed the daily realities faced by our PSDS community, they were reminded that behind every struggle is a person with hopes, dreams, and a life worthy of dignity and respect.

This experience challenged our young people to look beyond stereotypes and see each individual with compassion and understanding. It became a reminder that service is not only about extending help but also about building genuine relationships, learning from one another, and walking together as one community.

May this encounter inspire more hearts to choose kindness, empathy, and solidarity with those who are often forgotten.

A fruitful and insightful Sama-Aralan Session with our beloved PSDS. For this month of July, our PSDS community gathered to discuss existing programs and services, as well as relevant laws that directly affect them and their lives along the streets.

Every voice mattered, and every question and answer contributed to a meaningful shared learning activity. This sparked deeper knowledge and awareness among them - one collective learning session at a time.

𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗛𝗟𝗬 𝗦𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗗𝗔𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥 | The June Solidarity Encounter, spearheaded by the Sta. Maria Goretti Parish Youth Ministry, brought together the community in a meaningful gathering of fellowship, reflection, and solidarity with Persons in Street-Dwelling Situations (PSDS). The Ministry extends its sincere appreciation to the youth ministry for their generosity and commitment in making the encounter possible.

The gathering also served as a farewell for the Ministry's Social Work interns, Francheska Ricasata and Mikaela Gutierrez, in recognition of their dedicated service, compassion, and valuable contributions throughout their internship. The Ministry expresses its gratitude for their commitment and wishes them God's guidance and blessings as they continue their journey in the social work profession.

May this encounter continue to inspire greater compassion, solidarity, and service toward the most vulnerable members of the community.

𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗛𝗟𝗬 𝗦𝗢𝗟𝗜𝗗𝗔𝗥𝗜𝗧𝗬 𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥 | Our May Solidarity Encounter was a powerful testament to the beauty of community and shared responsibility.

What made this gathering particularly meaningful was the active involvement of our beloved PSDS throughout the entire event. Rather than simply participating, they took ownership of every stage. From managing registration, serving as readers and offerers during the Holy Mass, organizing the venue, and leading the distribution of meals to their fellow PSDS.

This reflects the very heart of our ministry as we continue to help our beloved PSDS empower themselves and welcome them as valued members of our Church community.

𝗠𝗪𝗣 𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗛𝗟𝗬 𝗕𝗨𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗡 | Stay informed with the latest updates in our June 2026 Bulletin!

This issue highlights our key initiatives, including securing temporary medical shelter for vulnerable PSDS, launching the Youth Advocate Program, and organizing a meaningful Solidarity Encounter. The month was also marked by strategic advocacy, with the ministry presenting their mission and objectives to the Pasay City Vicariate and engaging academic and religious institutions to build collaborative partnerships that champion the rights and dignity of the PSDS.

𝐑𝐎𝐋𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐊𝐈𝐓𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐍 | The Rolling Kitchen continues through the months of May and June! Guided by the collaborative spirit and deep compassion of our beloved PSDS, they came together to pack 200 ready-to-eat meals and personally distributed them to their fellow brothers and sisters in street-dwelling situations along the areas of Paco and Ermita, Manila.

This initiative goes far beyond basic provision and serves as an inspiring testament to the power of love and mutual support. By actively taking charge of the preparation and distribution, the PSDS remind us that no one is ever too poor to give, and that true dignity is restored when we actively look out for one another.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Canossian Daughters of Charity for their continuous support and unwavering care for our beloved PSDS, as well as to everyone who walks alongside us in this grace-filled mission.
