Miraculous 30 Day Novena to the Holy Child Jesus Christ

Opening Prayer:
Almighty Father, I place the Precious Blood of Jesus before my lips before I pray, that my prayers may be purified before they ascend to Your divine altar. Lord, Most High, I give Thee thanks and praise for Thy immutable Being, Thy infinite perfections, and for having created me out of nothing. I acknowledge myself as Thy creature and the work of Thy hands. I bless Thee, adore Thee, give Thee honor, magnificence, and Divinity as the supreme Lord and Creator of myself and all that exists. I raise up my spirit and place it in Thy hands, offering myself with profound humility and resignation to Thee and ask Thee to dispose of me according to Thy will during this day and during all the days of my life. Teach me to fulfill whatever would be to Thy greater pleasure.

O JESUS, full of compassion, I commend to thee my spirit and my soul, in union with that love wherewith thou didst commend Thine Own to the Father on the Cross; and I place them in the most sacred wound of Thy tender Heart, that they may be therein protected from all the snares of the enemy. Thou knowest, O good Jesus, and I know by my own sad experience, how weak and frail I am, so that I could not of myself persevere in good, or resist temptation even for one single hour. Wherefore I pray Thee, by the reverence due to that union wherein Thy manhood is united to the adorable Trinity for our glorification, that Thou wouldst deign to unite my will to Thine, and so to strengthen and secure it, that it may be unable to rebel against Thee. In union with Thy most sinless limbs, I commend to Thee all the members of my body, with all their movements, that they may throughout this day love for Thy glory alone, for Thy praise and Thy love. O Most loving Jesus, I breathe towards Thee this sigh, drawn from the depth of my heart, beseeching Thee with all my might that Thou wouldst deign Thyself to work in me all my works, whether of body or of soul, to cleanse them all in thy sweetest Heart, and to offer them, in union with Thine Own most perfect works, to God the Father as an eternal thanksgiving. Amen.

Dear Jesus, moved by an impulse of love, and with purity of intention, I wish to cover my humble labors with Your merits and bathe them in the supernatural gold of Your Precious Blood. I desire to consecrate my life to the saving of souls and the extension of Your glory, and I beg the Heavenly Father for as many souls as You shed drops of Blood during Your Passion. Jesus, Who said: “Ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened to you,” through the intercession of Mary, your Most Holy Mother, I knock, I seek, I ask that my prayer be granted. (Make your request)

O Jesus, look upon the tears of the Mother who loved You most while on earth, and who loves You so ardently in heaven. (Repeat this prayer 7 consecutive times)

O Divine Jesus, Who said: “Unless you become like little children, you will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven,” grant me the simplicity and wonder, the tenderness and gentleness of a child. Fill me with innocence, hope, and love. (Make your request)

O Jesus hear our petitions, for the sake of the tears shed by Your dearest Mother. (Repeat this prayer 7 consecutive times)

O Divine Infant, help me to know how close You are to me and how powerful is Your embrace. Help me to trust that You do hold the whole world in Your hand. I place my every need and care in Your hands. (Make your request)

O Mary, Mother of Love, of Sorrows and of Mercy, we beg You, join Your prayers with ours so that Jesus, Your Divine Son to whom we turn, will graciously hear our petitions for the sake of Your maternal tears, and, together with the graces we implore, grant us finally the reward of eternal life. Amen.

O Almighty God, I sanctify, dedicate, and consecrate to Thee every beating of my heart, and every pulsation of my blood; and I desire to make this compact with Thee, that their every beating shall say to Thee: Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of Sabaoth; and I beseech Thee to impute this meaning to them, so that they may be before Thy Divine Majesty as the unceasing echo of that heavenly canticle, which seraphims sing without ceasing unto Thee. Amen. Amen.

Concluding Prayer:
Lord, Most High, I give You thanks and praise for Your immutable Being, Your infinite perfections, and for having created me out of nothing. I acknowledge myself as Your creature and the work of Your hands. I bless You, adore You, give You honor, magnificence, and Divinity as the supreme Lord and Creator of myself and all that exists. I raise up my spirit and place it in Your hands, offering myself with profound humility and resignation to You and ask You to dispose of me according to Your will during this day and during all the days of my life. Teach me to fulfill whatever would be to Your greater pleasure. Amen.

Remember that it is not feeling of guilt that constitutes sin but the consent to sin. Only the free will is capable of good or evil. But when the will sighs under the trial of the tempter and does not will what is presented to it, there is not only no fault but there is virtue.

Do not fear. Jesus is more powerful than all hell. At the invocation of his name every knee in heaven, on earth and in hell must bend before Jesus; this is a consolation for the good and terror for evil.

“Accordingly, before the advent of the Lord, philosophy was necessary to the Greeks for righteousness. And now it becomes conducive to piety; being a kind of preparatory training to those who attain to faith through demonstration. "For thy foot," it is said, "will not stumble, if thou refer what is good, whether belonging to the Greeks or to us, to Providence." For God is the cause of all good things; but of some primarily, as of the Old and the New Testament; and of others by consequence, as philosophy. Perchance, too, philosophy was given to the Greeks directly and primarily, till the Lord should call the Greeks. For this was a schoolmaster to bring "the Hellenic mind," as the law, the Hebrews, "to Christ." Philosophy, therefore, was a preparation, paving the way for him who is perfected in Christ.

Now," says Solomon, "defend wisdom, and it will exalt thee, and it will shield thee with a crown of pleasure." For when thou hast strengthened wisdom with a cope by philosophy, and with right expenditure, thou wilt preserve it unassailable by sophists. The way of truth is therefore one. But into it, as into a perennial river, streams flow from all sides. It has been therefore said by inspiration: "Hear, my son, and receive my words; that thine may be the many ways of life. For I teach thee the ways of wisdom; that the fountains fail thee not," which gush forth from the earth itself. Not only did He enumerate several ways of salvation for any one righteous man, but He added many other ways of many righteous, speaking thus: "The paths of the righteous shine like the light." The commandments and the modes of preparatory training are to be regarded as the ways and appliances of life.”

The Father is the original cause of all things that exist, the Son is the creative cause, and the Spirit is the perfecting cause- such that [everything] subsists by the will of the Father, is brought into being by the Energy of the Son, and is perfected by the presence of the Spirit. . . . For the Origin of all beings is one, creating through the Son and perfecting by the Spirit. Neither does the Father, 'Who worketh all in all' (1 Cor. 12:6), have imperfect energy, nor does the Son have deficient creativity, if not perfected by the Spirit. The Father, Who creates by His will alone, could not stand in any need of the Son, but nevertheless He wills through the Son; likewise neither could the Son, Who works according to the likeness of the Father, stand in any need of cooperation, yet the Son too wills to make perfect through the Spirit"

“Unfortunate sinners, who are already lost, do not despair, raise your eyes to this lovely Star, take a breath and take courage. For she will save you from poverty and lead you to the port of salvation.”

If any man be devout and love God, let him enjoy this fair and radiant triumphal feast. If any man be a wise servant, let him rejoicing enter into the joy of his Lord. If any have labored long in fasting, let him now receive his recompense. If any have wrought from the first hour, let him today receive his just reward. If any have come at the third hour, let him with thankfulness keep the feast. If any have arrived at the sixth hour, let him have no misgivings; because he shall in nowise be deprived thereof. If any have delayed until the ninth hour, let him draw near, fearing nothing. If any have tarried even until the eleventh hour, let him, also, be not alarmed at his tardiness; for the Lord, who is jealous of his honor, will accept the last even as the first; He gives rest unto him who comes at the eleventh hour, even as unto him who has wrought from the first hour.

And He shows mercy upon the last, and cares for the first; and to the one He gives, and upon the other He bestows gifts. And He both accepts the deeds, and welcomes the intention, and honors the acts and praises the offering. Wherefore, enter you all into the joy of your Lord; and receive your reward, both the first, and likewise the second. You rich and poor together, hold high festival. You sober and you heedless, honor the day. Rejoice today, both you who have fasted and you who have disregarded the fast. The table is full-laden; feast ye all sumptuously. The calf is fatted; let no one go hungry away.

Enjoy ye all the feast of faith: Receive ye all the riches of loving-kindness. let no one bewail his poverty, for the universal kingdom has been revealed. Let no one weep for his iniquities, for pardon has shown forth from the grave. Let no one fear death, for the Savior’s death has set us free. He that was held prisoner of it has annihilated it. By descending into Hell, He made Hell captive. He embittered it when it tasted of His flesh. And Isaiah, foretelling this, did cry: Hell, said he, was embittered, when it encountered Thee in the lower regions. It was embittered, for it was abolished. It was embittered, for it was mocked. It was embittered, for it was slain. It was embittered, for it was overthrown. It was embittered, for it was fettered in chains. It took a body, and met God face to face. It took earth, and encountered Heaven. It took that which was seen, and fell upon the unseen.

O Death, where is your sting? O Hell, where is your victory? Christ is risen, and you are overthrown. Christ is risen, and the demons are fallen. Christ is risen, and the angels rejoice. Christ is risen, and life reigns. Christ is risen, and not one dead remains in the grave. For Christ, being risen from the dead, is become the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. To Him be glory and dominion unto ages of ages. Amen.

Reflection: Duterte Legacy

I’ve struggled for years trying to understand how so many people who call themselves Christians people I sat beside in church pews, people who taught Sunday school, even some pastors could wholeheartedly support President Rodrigo Duterte. It’s not his politics I want to dwell on, but something deeper. Something spiritual. The way he spoke about God. I’m not pretending to be perfect. I’ve made compromises, I’ve stayed silent when I should have spoken up. But this? This widespread justification, this blind loyalty in the face of blatant mockery of our faith it shook me. It made me question not just the convictions of others, but the health of our entire Christian witness in this country.

It is often observed that some individuals who publicly identify as Christians support political or public figures whose behavior and rhetoric starkly contradict core Christian teachings. A prominent example is the support for individuals known for mocking God or exhibiting behavior that would traditionally be considered blasphemous or immoral by Christian standards. Support for someone who mocks God can thus be seen as a form of spiritual inconsistency or even hypocrisy, particularly when these same individuals denounce others for lesser moral or doctrinal differences. It highlights a troubling trend where faith becomes subordinate to political or personal interests, rather than guiding them.

I remember the first time I heard him mock the idea of God, calling the concept of original sin “stupid,” questioning the story of creation, and even challenging the existence of God outright. I was stunned not just by his words, but by the silence that followed. Where was the outrage? The righteous anger? If a celebrity or foreign leader had said those things, Christians would’ve risen up in protest. But because it was Duterte, the reaction was either silence or awkward justification.

“It’s just his style,” they said.
“He doesn’t mean it.”
“Don’t take it literally.”
Or worst of all, “He may not be perfect, but he gets the job done.”

I can’t help but feel there’s a deep hypocrisy in that. We preach about fearing God, honoring Him, standing up for the faith. But when someone in power blasphemes, we suddenly forget all that? We claim to follow Christ, who taught humility, compassion, and forgiveness, but we rally behind a leader who openly scorns those very values and scorns God Himself. If we truly believe in God, if we truly call ourselves Christians, then shouldn’t we care more about His name being honored than a politician’s popularity?

I pray that we wake up. That we learn to hold our leaders accountable not just for their actions, but for their word especially when those words insult the very God we claim to worship. It feels like some of us traded our faith for political convenience. Like it’s easier to serve two masters when the second one promises order, power, or even just revenge against the corrupt. But didn’t Jesus warn us about that?

You see that a tree gives its fruit to all, but keeps silence; a spring gives drink to all, but keeps silence; other creatures of God also benefit us, but keep silence. For so they are made by their Creator, and they preach the glory and praise of God in silence, giving the occasion to glorify and praise God’s goodness to us, who use them for our benefit. Likewise we, the rational creation, learn to do good to one another in silence, not blowing the trumpet before us, and not seeking our own glory, but the glory of our Creator, from Whom both we and all good things proceed. Christ our Savior teaches us this: “Let your light so shine before men, thar they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. [Matt. 5:16]

Authentic prayer – the warmth that accompanies the Jesus Prayer, for it is Jesus who enkindles fire on the earth of our hearts (cf. Luke 12:49) – consumes the passions like thorns and fills the soul with delight and joyfulness. Such prayer comes neither from right or left, nor from above, but wells up in the heart like a spring of water from the life-quickening Spirit. It is this prayer alone that you should aspire to realize and possess in your heart, always keeping your intellect free from images, concepts and thoughts. And do not be afraid, for He who says, “Take heart; it is I; be not afraid” (Matt. 14:27), is with us – He whom we seek and who protects us always. When we invoke God we must be neither timid nor hesitant.”

Act of Reparation and Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
O Sweetest Jesus, Thou dost pour forth Thy Love abundantly on men, while they repay Thee most ungratefully with neglect, indifference, and contempt. Behold us humbly kneeling before Thine altar (outside a Church or oratory say: in Thy presence); we would fain repair this heartless in gratitude on the part of men, and the manifold injuries that are everywhere done to Thy most loving Heart, by a special act of homage.
Yet we are not unmindful that we, too, have had our part in this unworthy behavior; therefore are we moved to deep contrition, and, above all, we beg Thy mercy for ourselves; we are ready to atone, by this voluntary act of expiation, for the crimes which we ourselves have committed, as also for the sins of those who, straying far from the way of salvation, either refuse, in the blindness of their unbelief, to follow Thee, the Shepherd and Guide of their souls, or who trample upon the vows of their Baptism and shake off the sweet yoke of Thy law.
Not only are we anxious to expiate all of these deplorable crimes, but in an especial manner do we purpose to make reparation for these following: immodesty and shameful excesses in life and in dress; the many snares of corruption laid for the souls of the innocent; the neglect of holy days; the hateful blasphemies that are hurled against Thee and Thy Saints; the reproaches uttered against Thy Vicar on earth, and all the priestly order; the neglect, also, of the very Sacrament of Thy love, as well as its profanation by horrifying sacrilege; and finally the public sins of the nations in rebellion against the just rights and the teaching authority of the Church established by Thee.
Would that we were able to atone for all these outrages even to the shedding of our blood! Meanwhile in order to atone for the violations of the honour due to Thee, we offer unto Thee that self-same satisfaction which of old Thou didst offer to the Father upon the Holy Cross and which from day to day Thou dost continually renew upon the altars of Thy Holy Church. To this we add the expiatory merits of Thy Virgin Mother, of all Thy Saints, and of the devout faithful upon earth.
With all our heart we promise to atone, Thy grace assisting us, for our own past sins and those of all other men, as also for our coldness towards Thine exceeding great love, by a firm faith, spotless purity of life and the perfect fulfillment, so far as in us lies of the law of the Gospel, and in particular of the precept of charity.
We likewise pledge ourselves in accordance with our strength to prevent such injuries being done to Thee, and to invite as many as we can to follow Thee. Accept, we pray Thee, most gracious Jesus, through the intercession of Our Lady of Reparation, this our free-will offering of reparation, and be Thou pleased to keep us, by the great gift of final perseverance, faithful even unto death in our dutiful service of Thee, so that in the end we may all come to that, our true native land, where Thou, with the Father and the Holy Ghost, livest and reignest for ever and ever Amen.
