Christian Workers Credit Cooperative A cooperative whose members are permanent employees of the City Government of Manila The CWMMC then Christian Workers Movement Cooperative Credit Union, Inc.

formally registered its existence with the Cooperatives Administration Office Registration on March 21, 1963 as a credit cooperative with only about 25 City Hall employees as founding members, through the initiative of then Vice Mayor Herminigildo Astorga with only a beginning share capital of about P3,500.00 from the contribution of the organizing members as seed capital. Our cooperative name beg

ins with the name of CHRIST being Christ as our center while the WORKERS refer to the workers at Manila City Hall. The MOVEMENT signifies the BOND that brought the employee-members together as cooperative. The cooperative's patron saint is ST. JOSEPH who is known for his humility, patience, obedience and detachmet from worldy affairs. The CWMMC emanated from an employee organization, which aimed to safeguard and promote the general material and spiritual well being of workers in the City Government of Manila. Its creation was based on Christian cooperativism and was imbibed with virtues like giving services, dedication, love for fellow workers, helping one another and other Christian traits.
