โœ‹๐Ÿพ On this important commemoration, Indigenous Peoples Rights International stands in solidarity with worldwide in recognizing the leadership and vital role of Indigenous midwives and health practitioners.

๐ŸšจInternational human rights standards, including United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples , CEDAW General Recommendation No. 39 and CERD recommendations, recognize Indigenous health systems.

๐ŸšจYet, Indigenous midwives and health practitioners continue to face discrimination, stigmatization and criminalization around the world.

๐Ÿ“ข We call on States and the international community to recognize, support and protect them, and to repeal laws and policies that criminalize Indigenous health practices.

"CASE DISMISSED."

A local court has dismissed charges against Bishop Jose Elmer Mangalinao and other environmental advocates linked to their opposition to a mining exploration project in Kasibu, Nueva Vizcaya, the Diocese of Bayombong said Wednesday.

In a statement, Mangalinao welcomed the ruling, saying it affirmed the efforts of communities and advocates working to protect watersheds, livelihoods and the environment.

โ€œIt is a victory for truth, justice, and the collective efforts of communities who courageously stand to protect our land, water, and future generations,โ€ the bishop said.
