On August 31, we gathered for the Lord's Supper, a sacred ordinance that commemorates the Last Supper shared by Jesus and His disciples before His crucifixion. As recorded in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and 1 Corinthians, Jesus broke bread and shared wine with His followers, commanding them to do so in remembrance of Him. This act is not merely a ritual, but a means of grace and a deep expression of faith in Christ's atoning work.

'Capturing the sacred moments of grace, unity, and remembrance as we partake in the Lord's Supper, honoring Christ's sacrifice and our shared faith.

PHILIP THE EVANGELIST

Philip was a respected and faithful man who was one of the seven helpers first appointed in a congregation of disciples of Jesus. The church first began in Jerusalem among the Jews, but following the Stoning of Stephen, a great persecution rose up against the followers of Jesus, and they left Jerusalem in large numbers. Followers of Jesus, like Philip, began teaching people about Jesus wherever they went. This meant the good news of King Jesus spread out from Jerusalem to a wider and wider circle of people. Philip’s first stop was Samaria, where he taught many, including Simon the Sorcerer.

Acts 8:1-10 KJV
And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles. [2] And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him. [3] As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison. [4] Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word. [5] Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. [6] And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. [7] For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed. [8] And there was great joy in that city. [9] But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one: [10] To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God.

The Importance of Prayer

Prayer is a powerful and essential part of spiritual life. It serves as a direct line of communication between a person and God, allowing individuals to speak honestly, listen deeply, and connect with the divine. Through prayer, people seek guidance, find comfort in times of trouble, express gratitude, and ask for strength, forgiveness, or healing.

Beyond its spiritual value, prayer brings peace of mind, encourages self-reflection, and helps individuals develop inner strength and patience. It builds faith, offers hope, and reminds us that we are not alone in our journey.

Whether done in silence or spoken aloud, privately or with others, prayer has the power to calm the soul, renew purpose, and strengthen one’s relationship with God. It is both a personal refuge and a spiritual discipline that shapes character, deepens faith, and brings light into daily life.

Colossians 4:3-4 KJV
Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds: [4] That I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.

Be a Soul Winner

Being a soul winner means living with eternal purpose — reaching out to others with the love, truth, and hope found in Christ. It’s not just about sharing your faith; it’s about being a light in a dark world, guiding hearts toward salvation. Whether through words, actions, or prayer, every believer is called to plant seeds of grace and lead others to the joy of knowing Jesus. Soul winning is not a duty — it’s a divine privilege.

Ezekiel 33:7-11 KJV
So thou, O son of man, I have set thee a watchman unto the house of Israel; therefore thou shalt hear the word at my mouth, and warn them from me. [8] When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. [9] Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. [10] Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live? [11] Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

Witnessing through our Lips

To witness through our lips is to share the Gospel with boldness, love, and sincerity. It’s not about having all the answers, but about being willing to speak openly about who Jesus is and what He’s done in our lives. Whether it’s a quiet conversation, a spoken prayer, or a public testimony, our words can plant seeds that God will cause to grow.

In a world desperate for truth, may we never be silent about the hope we have in Christ. Let our lips shine as instruments of His light.

Psalm 107:2-8 KJV
Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy; [3] And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south. [4] They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in. [5] Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them. [6] Then they cried unto the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses. [7] And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation. [8] Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

Witnessing through our life

2 Corinthians 3:1-3 KJV
Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or need we, as some others, epistles of commendation to you, or letters of commendation from you? [2] Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men: [3] Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.

As Christians, even in the midst of life's many difficulties and challenges, we can reflect our faith through the way we live. Our actions, our relationship with the Lord, and the peace we receive from following His guidance all serve as a testimony to others. It is through this daily walk with God that others can see what it truly means to live as a Christian.

"A Father's Endurance; Faithfulness through trials"

We celebrated Father’s Day to honor the fathers of our church—pillars of their homes and faithful servants of the Lord. Each family shared heartfelt gratitude for their love, leadership, and spiritual guidance. May God continue to bless them with strength, good health, and renewed spirit in all they do.

[Galatians 6:9 KJV
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.]

Through the water baptism, we joyfully welcome a new member into our church family. May their journey of faith grow ever deeper and more meaningful.

Galatians 3:26-27
[26]For ye all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus [27]For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
