Not a hymn. Not a prayer. A serenade.

Las Mañanitas has been offered to Our Lady of Guadalupe for generations — a love song from a people who do not only pray to their Mother. They sing to her.

This is that song.

As her Pilgrim Image makes its way toward the Philippines, we offer our voices too.

Join us for the Opening Mass of the National Pilgrimage of Our Lady of Guadalupe:
The Manila Cathedral
June 13, 2026 | 3PM
(Presider) His Eminence Jose Fuerte Cardinal Advincula, Metropolitan Archbishop of Manila.

This June 13, the Pilgrim Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe arrives in the Philippines for the opening of her national tour across the country.

From Luzon to Visayas to Mindanao, her pilgrimage will bring millions together in faith and devotion. But first, we gather at the Manila Cathedral—where this sacred journey begins.

Perhaps this is why so many hearts already feel drawn to her arrival: because deep down, we are all searching for comfort, protection, and the reminder that we are never alone.

The roses came first.

Not in spring. Not in season. Blooming on a cold December hillside where nothing should have grown.

For Juan Diego, they were a sign. For generations of believers, they became a reminder that grace often arrives where it seems impossible.

This is why we call her Mystical Rose.

As her image makes its way toward the Philippines, we begin here. With this prayer. With the same trust Juan Diego carried in his tilma on that December morning.

Mystical Rose, pray for us.

"As Heavenly Patroness, she is not only an imagery of light, imagery of joy. She is the imagery of heaven itself."
— Bro. Kendrick Ivan Panganiban

Her image stands in Rome. In Paris. In New York. The Basilica in Mexico City receives up to 20 million pilgrims a year.

She is not a regional devotion. She never was.

And nearly a century ago, Pope Pius XI declared her Heavenly Patroness of the Philippines. The whole world knows her face. She has known ours for centuries.
In 2026, she is coming home.

Before she was called patroness. Before the shrines were built. Before any of us were born, she was already here.

The devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe has been woven into Philippine life across five centuries, arriving not once but three times.

In 1687, the first parish dedicated to her was established in Pagsanjan, Laguna. In 1847, a Spanish image of Our Lady of Guadalupe of Extremadura arrived in Loboc, Bohol, now a Diocesan Shrine holding a Papal Spiritual Bond with the Basilica of Saint Mary Major in Rome. In 1880, a local man named Ricardo Ramirez discovered her image in a cave in Cebu. She became the patroness of an entire archdiocese.
Three images. Three stories. Three centuries of faith.

And yet as Bro. Kendrick Ivan Panganiban, Lay Secretary of the Association of Catholic Shrines and Pilgrimages of the Philippines, says it simply:
"They are linked with one another as one devotion."

Mexican bishops call it the Guadalupe Triangle. Spain, Mexico, the Philippines. One mother. One mantle. One unfolding story that has never stopped moving toward us.

In 2026, she moves again.

Not the altar. Not the glass case.

The tilma itself holds a constant temperature of 37°C. Human body temperature. Nearly 500 years later.

She is not a relic you visit. She is a presence you encounter.

In 2026, she is coming here.

In a special audience at St Peter’s Basilica on May 13, 2026, the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima, Ernest Escaler presented to Pope Leo XIV the upcoming visit of Our Lady of Guadalupe to the Philippines. The Supreme Pontiff promised to pray for the success of the visit.

She is not an image you admire from a distance.

Under 2,500x magnification, her eyes reflect the faces of those who were there the day she appeared. Her iris adjusts with the viewer's distance, the way a living eye does.

The stars on her mantle match the exact constellations over Mexico City that December night. Not as seen from the ground. From above the atmosphere.
Both phenomena remain unexplained.

Pilgrims have stood before her for centuries carrying grief, questions, fear, hope. Most leave feeling the same thing:
"A Mother saw me here."

In 2026, she is coming to stand before us.

Nearly 500 years old. Still intact.

No brushstrokes. No sketch underneath. A bomb went off beside it in 1921. A crucifix nearby bent from the blast.

The tilma did not.
Science has no answer for it. And in 2026, a Pilgrim Image touched to that same tilma is crossing the ocean to find us.

Nandito na siya. Para sa atin.
